Any Foster Moms out there?

I'm looking into fostering infants in transition.
Has anyone here done this? I'd appreciate you noting your experiences and advice here.

I'm haven't fostered parented persay, but my mom has been a foster parent for 30 years (I was a foster child at her home). There are a few things that you should consider.

1. Don't do it just for the money, do it because you care for the children. I was in a foster home before I got to my permanent one (my mom) and they did it for the money, and trust me you could tell (not saying you wouldn't care, but its hard work).
2. With infants, be careful of becoming very attached because if they are in transition then they wont be at your home permanently.
3. Try one at first, don't bite off more than you can chew. Many children are shipped to home after home after home. Its hard on them. My mom is looking after a girl now who has been in 20 homes and 16 schools. My moms is the longest she's ever been at one home (1 year!)

I don't know too much about infants because my mom usually takes in the school aged children that have "issues". I have more experience with them but I'm sure there are some better qualified people on here with more advice. This is just from what I've seen growing up in a foster home.

No, it's certainly not a money thing, it's a heart thing.
I thought infants would be easier on my emotions. Especially, if I just cared for those in transition since sometimes they only need a place to stay for a few weeks until they are placed in their permanent adoption home.
