Default fraudulent charge on DH's credit card

This is his post on another forum.

Just a heads up -- earlier this week on my credit card activity I noticed a charge from MV WEB TEMPLATES for about 11.50.

The charge was bogus, I've never used any such company, but I did some research and have found numerous claims for this company with the same phone number alleging fraudulent charges for similarly small amounts.

I've also found suggestions that digitial river, an online ecommerce company with whom I *have* had transactions, is suspected of being hacked or having an insider who's provided CC info to this bogus company. No proof concrete, just speculation, as far as I can tell with my limited research.

In any event, general consensus is that the charges are small in the hopes of escaping notice. I reported the charge to my bank, who refunded the $, but I still encourage all of you to keep a CLOSE eye on your credit card statements.

I made a purchase online about 2 weeks ago from a different company and I noticed a $16.50 charge the day after from some company I never did business with. I immediately disputed it.

My card I use has an option where I can go to my online account and suspend/unsuspend my card. I now suspend when not in use and unsuspend it only when I need to make a purchase.

When buying online I get a virtual number from my cc company that is only good for 1 time. If they try to use it again it is denied. It is also only good for 10 days.
