Default For ONCE something went right...

Ok, so 6 weeks ago my car breaks down... I'm told the spark plugs were bad and get a massive tune-up... meanwhile I'm told my catalic converters are bad and to take it to the dealership to get replaced under a federal warranty, ok no problem. Well I find out at the dealership that my O2 sensors are bad and if I don't replace these, they will just destroy the new converters... ok so got that done. Take it home and on the way home, it breaks down. Find out my distributor is bad... get a new distributor. $3000 later and the car runs great. Now I'm upset at this point because 3 weeks before all this happened, I just got the car. It's a 2000 Mitsubishi Diamanti with 50,000 miles. It was my grandparents and they barely drove it. They couldn't afford the payments anymore so I took them over at $145/month now this also helped me out alot since Nissan was on it's last legs at the time. Now fast forward to last friday, my BF drives me to work to use my car for the day (his is in the shop lol) and calls me when he was to leave to get me that it stalled out when he was pulling out of the driveway and won't start. Ok, get a ride home and borrow my grandparents other car now. Get it towed to the mechanic... find out that the distributor cap somehow came loose, they fixed it but I need a new fuel filter and an oil change. So I got it all done to the tune of what I was told would be $185 (diagnostic fee was in there somewhere). Get a call an hour later that the car stalled again. They keep it till the next day and figure out it's the fuel pump ($650 job) or the distributor. So I call a tow company and get it sent back to the dealership. Just got a call... the distributor they just put it less then 2 months ago failed. They don't know why and apologize. There is no charge and they covered the towing. Then I call my mechanic to pay over the phone for his work and what do I find out... no bill. He felt so bad that I had so many problems with the car, he said don't worry about it. Whew, that was long but I"m thrilled right now!

And I'm thrilled for you. You have sure had a lot going on with that car. I hope you have a smooth ride from here on out.

Wow! Rough start with this one. It's possible that your grandparents didn't drive the car ENOUGH... things actually go bad when a car just sits. Maybe now all will be well.

OR, maybe since you've had all this work done and the bill waived... it may be a good time to trade it in....

I'm glad it all worked out for you. Hopefully the car won't have any more problems for a long time .

It's always so nice to get a bit of good news in the midst of a mess. I am so glad you were able to save some $$. Good luck with the car in the future!

Wow, what a pita! Hope your car purrs like a kitten for a long long time and coughs up no fur balls.
