    Default Another Storm

We are bracing for yet another storm.
This time we should get 1/4 of ice, followed by 4-8 inches of snow. We also should expect blizzard force winds. This will be our third ice storm this season and our at least our 8th snow storm.
I know that I live in Iowa, but this winter has been too much.
I am currently charging batteries, doing laundry and getting out the flashlights. They are predicting power outages.
Also, my DH is at the state wrestling meet (about 30 miles away), so I am praying that he gets home before it hits tonight.

I'm hoping for the best for you!

I don't live in Iowa, but even here in Michigan we have had more snow (and more school snow days) than I have seen in a really long time.

Let's all hope for an early srping!

Yep, our family lives up in Iowa and Hubby was up there today to do some work for them. He scooted back home before it all hits. They said that the town in southern Iowa where they live has run out of budget for cleaning the streets, so it's just piling up. Gets old after a while, doesn't it. And if your son is wrestling, good luck! I know that wrestling is big in Iowa.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, it is getting old. Our town apparently ran out of salt after the last storm. They may have more salt by now, but I heard that supplies are low nationally.

Thanks, but I don't have a son. My DH is a sports writer for the local paper, and is at the meet to cover some of the local kids. He should be home soon and the storm has not hit yet.
    Well back to laundry.

Oh I bet you are so tired of the ice and snow! I live in the desert now and this is the worst winter we've had for wind and sand storms and cold mornings! Just aweful! We mostly wake up to 20's to 30's but warms to 40's to 50's by noon but not a common thing here. Hope you stay safe and warm with this next storm.

Here's to hoping you'll stay warm and safe!! We're supposed to get really bad weather tomorrow (Sunday) and I've prepared for it.

We are expecting the same storm. They are saying anywhere from 6-12 inches where we live plus ice and winds. I am so ready for spring. I dont think we will thaw out till close to May

I'm ready for summer, too! We've gotten nearly a foot of snow over the last 2.5 days... It keeps going back and forth between single digits and low 30's...weird for this time of year. The snow bank at the foot of our driveway is about 4.5 feet tall...and we still need to shovel the driveway...again.

This has been an incredibly strange winter here in KY - we've only had one ice storm and a few minor snows, but the wind has been devastating. We've had several big wind systems go through, and each one does a lot of damage. The last one that went through, the tornado sirens went off all night and DH and I hardly slept. Other storms we've had 70 mph winds - it's blown huge trees down, stripped bricks off buildings, shingles off roofs, taken down power lines and generally created havoc and a BIG mess. I've never seen a winter so windy! We've also had crazy-variable temperatures - many times has it gotten up to 70 and then is snowing the next day. There's been so much illness here this winter from colds and flu, and I think "duh!" it's that weather! C'mon spring, and may it be an improvement!
