Default Gender Ratio on Frugal Village Forums?

I just had a realization... it seems that the majority of posters here are female, no? Okay, I know I may be a little slow on the uptake - especially when I'm in "research" mode.

So my inner scientist is curious. Just what are the gender ratios here on Frugal Village Forums? Would you mind answering the poll?

I made my way here to Frugal Village when I realized that I was like the "typical old man" - I was driving around trying to find my destination (balance my budget, pay off debt, save money) but I was refusing to stop and ask directions.

    Thanks!

    Cheers,
    sumdumsurfer

There are a few guys on here, but I think you're definitely in the minority!

I think one reason is exactly what you state... not asking for directions. Another reason is that in a lot of couples we still follow the gender roles of women running the household no matter how many other gender roles have been re-written... this one seems all but carved in stone. So, since women do most of the shopping, meal prep, laundry, etc... we are the ones who are more in tune with where and how we can make changes.

I've also noticed that there seems to be a lot of young SAHM's here. That's rather interesting.

Great question. Glad you joined us here.

You can add me to the young SAHM group I was a K-12 Music Teacher until having my kids. I plan to return once they are old enough to go back to school with me

I am a young mom--work outside the home though. I am also in charge with running the household and all that entails, including fixing things that break while hubby is deployed, raising the pipsqueak, handling the finances, etc. I also go to school full-time.

Well, sumdumsurfer, I hope you stick around!!! Wish there were more men on the forum... it's great to hear ideas and discussion from a non-gal.

    Default Outnumbered 9 to 1!

    Thanks everyone for replying!

    The poll results:

    94% women
    6% men

Now that I've been noticing who is posting, I can't say I'm suprised.

Also glad to see that there are a couple other males posting here.

Funny thing was - I was about to reply to the "Men are Amusing Creatures" thread - because I'm always interested in a good thread on the women/men relations... but given how much you all outnumber me I may just pass!

    Cheers,
    sumdumsurfer
