Is this happening where you are, too? Ours is sponsered by the PTA and the kiddos signed a pledge that they will have no screen time for one week. No computers (obviously this rule doesn't apply to me while their at school ), no video games and no t.v. Last year, it was a disaster. I think I cracked on day two. This year, so far, so good. In fact, we're all loving it! DS #1 told me today that he is really enjoying it--we're doing more arts and crafts and the school sponsors after-school activities (all FREE). DS #2, still asks to watch a little t.v., but he's easily distractable so I'm always able to convince him that we should do something else. I may just keep this going or initiate more t.v. free weeks (the school just does it once per year).
