Default Should I go see Dave Ramsey live?

Dave is coming to my area with his TMM and I would love to see him live. I have just recently started listening to his radio show and I love it! I would like to WORK for this guy! LOL! I would love to be on his staff! Unfortunately he's not local. We are debt free, but I would like to learn more about saving for retirement and investing, and there are always new things to glean from him! Has anyone gone before, and know if he covers these areas in depth? Should I spend the $64. for the tickets and go? Or should I be frugal and just buy his book?

Oh for heavens sake spend the money and go!! You can hear people all over raving about him.

I would love to go to his workshops, to listen to him live would be a real treat.

Maybe you could find out about working for him. He has people all over the states working for him. Maybe you could teach his classes.

Is he coming to the Springs?

Personally I would just get his books from the library. It seems kinda weird to me to pay to go see people who tell others how to save/invest/end debt. (Yes, I realize they need to make a living as well) I save by getting the info free at the library, but that's just me.

I do the same, unfortunately my local library says "no copies available" for all his books.

Ditto here. But if it's something you really would like to do and/or think you will benefit from it and can afford it, then go for it. (And let us know how it went. )

I would not pay Mr. R for his advice on money, saving, and finance. I get all the free advice I need, right here on Frugal Village. We have our own accountant for other advice. We know him on a first name basis. I like this better.

I've seen him live twice and would love to go again. He's very entertaining. He'll get you on fire. He'll make ya laugh.

His investing advice doesn't go in depth, it's more 'where's the best place' kinda thing. It's more motivating you to do it kinda thing.

When we went the cheap seats were $29 each, we heard the same thing as the VIP'rs, so I felt it was a good value.

If you're able to, go. Take someone you think needs a good charge to get their finances in order. I enjoyed the event very much.

Spend $64 to hear someone tell you how to save money...

Don't spend money -- thank you... thank you... I accept cash, check and money orders

Thanks for all of your responses!

Good to hear from someone who has gone, Pammy! It is definitely partly a "going for entertainment" thing for me AND picking up some good tips, getting inspired again. He is just so entertaining!

The cheap seats are $29. here too, plus a $3. (service charge?).

I've been trying to get the nerve to call in to his radio show and ask a question I have and maybe he'll give me tickets!

I've only called in once, to do the debt free scream. I don't know if it's because of Friday, or what, but had a heck of a time getting in to his show. Best, best, best of luck with that, if you go that route. haha.. And even then, when they set me up to get in the following Friday to scream (the show ended while i was on hold, they were nice enough to set up a time to call ME so i could get on air), I was so nervous I sounded like a complete idiot, lol. Ahhh... fun times.

But even if you don't get tickets from him, they're still cheap enough (imo, for what you get out of them). And you're right, so charging and motivational. Came away with a renewed sense of 'let's go!' after seeing him. Like I said, I'd go see him again if i could.

I think you should go! I have heard that one of the great things about seeing him live is that he is a good motivational speaker. Sometimes you need someone to help pump you up and keep you reaching for that goal.. it will give you momentum to continue/start the steps.
