Default icy here and they didn't even cancel school . . .

How crazy. Took me 1.5 hours to drive to school (work) and now that I'm here I find out that some people that live 10 minutes away couldn't make it!! Talk about being a little mad . . .

Some of our buses didn't even run their routes. They are the smart ones - the roads are totally iced over and most highways are at a standstill. We are the ONLY county around that has school.

I only have 2 out of my 15 students here today! I guess the district will realize that they didn't make any money today and will make better decisions next time. My district is getting a bad rep today. Even the radio DJ's are badmouthing those in charge.

    Just needed to rant!

Yeah they didn't cancel here either. It's just icy not snowy( we're just a few hrs from eachother it looks like...) but everyone was certainly having a hard time getting around. We stayed home today.

Our school has only had 2 snow days this year. There was a couple of days that was very bad and they still had school even though other schools were closed.

About 30 minutes ago, it was reported that there are two elementary busses that still haven't made it to school. But, they did give them snacks and a potty break is what the news said.

    Poor kids!!

They cancelled Fayette County (lexington) schools for the day at noon. My boss is isn't closing the office though so I'll be making that awful 5 pm drive in the ice.

We had ice overnight here in Missouri. But it wasn't supposed to be as bad where we are as it was further south. So the schools didn't cancel in our county. I teach an 8 am class at the University, and traveled slowly in 4 wheel drive to get there, and only 4 students showed up. But get this: 30 minutes later, they decided to call off all classes. Oh well........
