not one... but TWO interviews tomorrow!
to positive thinking!
I have been putting in applications like crazy. The first place called yesterday, the second one called today. I hope I get the second one!
Job 1 - (don't laugh) Being the Easter Bunny at the mall ($9/hr, but the job is only 2/27-3/22) I was so excited when they called because it would mean we could go a few weeks without complete panic. The woman called and basically told me I have the job, I am to go in Tuesday at 3:30 to fill out papers and start training at 4. Job would start Wednesday.
Job 2 - (crossing my fingers on this one) sandwich maker for a caterer. Monday - Friday 10-2 in the same town DD goes to school. The owner called me and said he liked my sense of humor (from my email) and he wants me to come in Tuesday at 9, right after I bring DD to school to come meet him in person and get a look at the menu etc. I didn't ask about the pay. I don't think it really makes a difference to me what it is... it's more than I am making now, and it's while DD is in school.
We SO need this! Out of all the jobs I have applied for, this is the one that is the most family friendly.
The only foreseeable problem is, DD has a lot of half-days and holy-days. Her Dad will have to step up and watch her for those hours if the Old Man is working.
It really stinks only having one car. The place he had an interview with on Friday wants him to come in Wednesday. They seem interested. It's telemarketing
not exactly a stable job... and it's 1p-9p which means I'd have to keep DD up late to go get him. It's located over 45 mins. away.
I keep hoping that something else comes along for him. Even if it's overnight stocker or something, anything... as long as we can make it work.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Things are looking brighter for you and I am so glad!!
ok I have to confess.......errr I want to be the easter bunny. OMG what fun would that be and get paid!! That is right up there with my dream of working in a chocolate factory as a taste tester. I have also wanted to play santa claus....... well anyway enough of that.
I am praying for you and know.......know everything will be ok.

LadyV, I am just so impressed with you! You ARE doing what it takes to fix the situation and so many times people sit back wondering what they could do to help themselves, but don't actually do anything. You should be so proud of yourself! Way to go and good luck with the interviews.

WTG! I'll pray the second job comes thru for you. Being the Easter Bunny is nice but the catering job sounds more suited to family life.
