    Question Input please....

I just joined the board recently and I have a question...my hubby and I generally go to the casino a couple of times a month. I generally overall have done okay (note IRS bill, didn't know about the Schedule
A stuff). Anyway dear hubby has recently got a bug up his butt and has decided that we are no longer going to go to the casino. I on the other hand had a coupon for $200 in free cash which expired Feb. 28th. Usually we each have $200 to play with which comes out of the household funds. If he needs more money (& he always does) he gets it from me.

I wanted to go to the casino & use my $200 coupon on the 28th, well we didn't go. I feel that since we didn't go, even though I had a $200 coupon we effectively saved the $200 I didn't have to give him. I want to put the $200 in the EF....he wants to buy a Wii which I find totally ridiculous since both of our previous gaming systems were borrowed and never returned.

I figure he should find another way to purchase said Wii if he wants it that bad...ex: stop buying lottery tickets & save towards the Wii.

    Am I being unreasonable?

I think you should stay out of the casino & start saving your money. Don't need the casino & don't need a wii. Both are wants. Pay off debts & save what you can will have you both sitting pretty in time.

We had already decided to stay out of the casino, but I did want to turn in my coupon for the $200. I could have walked in redeemed the coupon, got the $200 and came home. He still wanted me to give him the $200 I would have given him had we went to gamble, so he could put it towards a Wii.

From your response I guess I'm not being unreasonable in thinking putting $200 towards a Wii is unnecessary. It's hard trying to be frugal when it's so one sided...if you know what I mean??? Thank you for your input!!

I would say too bad to giving him 200 dollars since you essentially "lost" 200 as it expired. I think he will live w/o a Wii.
