I thought you would like to know...
As most of you know, things have been really really (did I say really yet) stressful for us with the Old Man getting his hours cut, and then getting fired for looking for another job... you know that I was panicked about how we were goign to keep afloat...
Now that he has already come home, I feel as if I can tell you all without jinxing anything...

The Old Man Got A Job!!!!!

He had his orientation tonight and his supervisor is going to call him tomorrow with his hours. He is going to be working at Sears as part of the receiving crew.
He has limited health/dental for the first six months, but they start on day -one-. After 6 months, he is enrolled in the regular company health/dental/vision/life and he can also get a 401K. They also have a pension fund... but I don't see him working there for the next 40 years
He has a rather relaxed dress code compared to the other departments, thank Goddess! Black jeans, black sweatshirt/shirt and black sneakers.
I will only get him 2 pairs jeans and shirts for now... until the employee discount card comes in
20% off at Sears, or the more affordable Kmart!!
I wanted to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers through this rather icky time. Knowing you all were pulling for us kept me strong.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I'm happy for you both. But I've got to say this...you are absolutely killing me with calling him Old Man.

Congratulations!
Tip for the black clothes: dye them black every 6 months or so. A tin of dye would cost around 7 euros/dollars, half a kilogramme of salt costs around 0.20 and it can be done in the washing machine without damage to the next load of washing. I do this regularly myself and keep my black clothes looking really black for a long time. The instructions on the tin will probably say that you can only dye 500 grammes of clothes, but that is for really white clothes that you want to dye deep black. For refreshing the colour, you can use one tin to about 3 kilogrammes of fabric. (1 jeans=1 kilogramme)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I told you things would look up. Think about the discount, woman! That is awesome!
I agree with Siebrie about dying the black clothes. Most of my work clothes are black and I dye them twice a year and they look like new!
I am really happy things worked out for you.
