I went to a few survivalist conventions with someone I know... I was surprised how much frugal info they had, like solar cooking, farming, gardening and medicianal info.

I'll bring my many cans of chili that I got free with coupons. Now, if someone can bring free hotdogs and home made buns it will be a frugal village worthy meal. lol

I'll bring the homemade hot dog buns. On the second thought, the price of flour is going up.....nix that.

OK, so I am in for the Skippy peanut butter and many tubes of toothpaste I obtained free.

We could have a crafting contest to see who can make what from basically nothing. Plastic bag, look I made a diamond ring. LOL

Also, ebay demos or contest to see who can make the most amount of money for the duration of the convention.

Sorry if I am sounding sarcastic but it has been a ruff day.

We should try to do mini-FV gatherings with the people in our area.

My twins site does that. We all try to get together with the people that live sort of near. Or, if someone is going to be near where someone else is (husband's business trip or vacation or whatever), we try to meet up.

Okay--so far we have chili, toothpaste, and duct tape. I love the idea of making crafts from things laying around! Hmm....I have free toothpaste, too, so we'll all have minty fresh breath. I just got a bunch of free dish washing liquid, too.

I'm up for a gathering in the New England area.

    YaY Can I join?

How about a huge kettle of baked beans? That is fairly frugal and bean hole beans are so yummy.

I'll bring the the frisbies and badmitton set.

LOL Cricket I am a New England Girl.

Chili AND baked beans...wow. Goat--how many bathrooms do you have? Somebody did have peanutbutter. Maybe that will bind us up.

LuvMyHubby--what part of New England are you in?

    Cricket:

Well, I have two bathrooms but only one works (at this time).

But that's ok. I have five acres and a national forest borders the back. Plenty of room.

Sounds like something like this would be a blast. But, alas I could never do something like this...so you will have to let me know how it goes...if you do it!

Someone could haul in a big monster tire from a land fill to roll down the hill in *lol* might want to put some pillows and a seat belt in it though and definately wear a crash helmet... never know where it may end up at the end of the roll. *lol*

On another forum where I am a member I managed to meet up with another member from Holland and one from the UK.
It was a LOT of fun and we all had the feeling that we had know each other years.
In fact I still see and talk regularly with the other member from Holland.
