Hello from Missouri
I live in NW Mo. have one daughter 2 grandkids, boy 5 ,girl 3 and another on the way next September.I'm divorced but not by my choice after 22 years he found a newer model 10 years younger than me.She would get drunk with him and was more fun so he told me.I'm almost 50 and live on $600 a month matience that he agreed to pay, I think because he felt guilty.I have always lived frugal in order to have the things we needed or wanted, like a home and vehicles. I live alone, I got the house and my car which broke down last winter and cost more to fix than I have ,so now I'm driving an 88 Chevy Sprint that gets 43 mpg. My beautiful 93 Cougar XR7 limited edition with very low miles is just sitting in my driveway rotting. But if I keep going without maybe someday I'll be able to get it fixed.I live in one room in my house in the winter and use a little kerosene heater for heat.My water heater quit working 2 yrs. ago so I heat all water on my stove.I don't even care that it quit because the town I live in has the highest electric rates in NW Mo. let alone the state.Last month I used 402 KW which cost $61.68 I never have lights on and if I do all my bulbs are floresent the only thing that is on much is my 20 in. TV.My dryer quit also but no big deal since I hardly ever used it anyway, have always loved line dryed clothes and have 2 wooden clothes dryers to hang on in the winter.Other people have always called me old fashioned because I've always known how to do without alot of the modern things.I have natural gas furnace but only use on really cold nights to keep pipes from freezing and in the afternoon to heat bathroom up enough to take a bath. This last month that alone cost $117.79 plus we have water ,sewer and trash pickup all on the same bill. With how I live without I don't know how other people pay their bills at all living on low paying jobs.I eat alot of deer burger that my sister and husband give me every year for xmas my sister dosen't like it ,I didn't either but have learned to.I have too many health problems to mention so I can't work, had cancer few years ago have asthma and other things wrong with me.But if I look around there are alot of people worse off than I am so I really don't complain much.I just do the best I can with what I have ,and I have friends to help me if there are things I can't do.I really like this forum and spent all day yesterday reading posts on it I was surprised there are so many people that do alot of the things I do to get by .To me these are very smart people. There are neighbors that live by me that have no clue how to make ends meet on alot more money than I have to live on and if I try to tell them how to do it they look at me like I'm stupid and say I'm not going to live like that.If their not willing to even try and their utilities get shut off and have more than once, I have no reason to feel sorry for them is the way I feel about it.

Welcome..I'm sorry that your ex did what he did to you...just wait till the new model wants a newer model and trades him in..what comes around goes around...I say this because I my father did somewhat the same thing to my Mom...however in the end they always regret what they gave up (meaning spouse) or the one they left their spouse for decides the person isn't what they thought he/she was what they wanted..You sound like a strong woman and you will get alot of great information from here..
