Need Opinions
I bought two calendars and some cards from my sil for my neices school.I did this in Nov.I did not buy any calendars this year cause I remembered I had bought those. We have seen them twice so far this year and she keeps forgetting them.Ok its March now and I probably wont get them for awhile unless she mails them(we live 3hrs away) I am sort of pissed cause I usually use calendar in the kitch to keep track of kids stuff and now I have none.Would you pay the full amount for the items since I have already lost 3 months of the calendar?I am pissed off if I have to pay full amount and didnt get full use of them

Did she say that she would mail them and just hasn't? Did you mention at the time you purchased them how they would get to you? If it was for a fund raiser, I would pay full price because your sil most likely wrote the check for them. I would just remember to never purchase calendars from them again!

Meant to add, that I would call sil and tell her you really need that calendar. Maybe she'll offer to bring it to you or mail it out to you.

i agree with Cricket.
It's more than likely for the child's school (ie,fundraiser). For that I'd pay full price because it's going to a great cause.
I'd call up the sil & say "hey, i really need those calendars. it's been 3 mos i've missed, can you just put them in mail plz? and CALL ME when you have sent them. leave a msg if I'm not home."
and just not buy anything in the future.
if she can make time and effort to ask ppl to buy things for her kids' she should ALSO make time and effort to deliver the goods upon receipt.
I've had this happen in the past to me before, except not a sil. it was a coworker, we worked in the same office & almost 4 mos went by w/out my receiving what "I" ordered, but they kept asking me for the money.
I ended up refusing when I found out (thru the grapevine) they'd given my stuff to the wrong person. in that case, it just wasnt "my" problem... but I NEVER bought from them again.
lesson learned.

If you haven't paid for them already, then chances are your sil did. Schools do not wait that long to close out fundraisers. If it were me I would go to a dollar store and buy a calendar for a buck...and I wouldn't order from sil again...no matter whom or what it was for. But, that's just me.

That stinks! I would go to the store and pick yourself up a cheap one and write the others off. Remember not to buy anything time sensitive from her again. It is a little thing but it is the principle, you bought them to help out but she can't follow through to get them to you. I am sure she feels terrible every time she looks at them but obviously not enough to throw them in the mail!!!

Well if she hasn't brought them after you reminded her--forget about them. I'm with everyone else--go to the dollar store (or elsewhere) and get one.

Well I agree that you should pay the full price, because it was for a fundraiser, but never buy from sil again. I also agree that you should go to the dollar store and grab yourself a calandar. It really rubs me the wrong way when you buy something from a fundraiser and it takes the person forever to get it to you. The prices those fundraisers charge are ridiculous. I finally made it a rule to never buy from a fundraiser. If they won't take a monetary donation then I guess they don't need my money that badly.

While you wait you could print calendars from the internet and then use the new ones when you finally get them. I'm sorry it's taking so long, I probably wouldn't buy anything from her again, if she's taking so long to deliever it.

I would suggest that when and if she sends them, then pay for them and just think of it as something you did for your nieces. I definetly wouldn't buy from her again.
