Congratulations! Good for her, I know a lot of work goes into applying for these. My dd's college has been fully funded through scholarships the past two years and my ds was able to graduate last year with no student debt.

Tell her to apply for everything she can. Many students ignore the smaller scholarships, but these add up quickly. Even $500 will help to pay for books.

Thanks for the congrats... I hope I didn't come across as too boastful , but I was really very exicted. She worked extrememly hard by writing 4 essays on different topic and all the other normal stuff gpa, shool/community involvement etc.

It will will be a great boost for her senior year to know that financially she doesn't have to worry (I am sure she will apply for more but this was a once in a lifetime I think) as we started her freshman year thinking she would have to wait because we were floored by what was left over tuition not covered. We were bless with my company floating me an advance on my pay for some of it that I was allowed to pay back over several months and we were sitting in Walmart wondering what else we could do when my daughter was rummaging through her purse for something and found a paycheck that she had forgotten that pretty much covered the rest needed. Someone was looking down on us that day and she got to start on time.

    Okay yet again rambling, sorry.
    Thanks again.
