    Default Debbie Meyer Storage Bags

Has any tried the Debbie Meyer Storage Bags? They are suppose to keep fruits and vegetables longer. I thought they might be handy for the upcoming garden season. Did you like them, or are they a waste of money?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I've been seeing some stuff like this at Costco but its not the brand you mentioned.
They have several models from those that pull out the air to those made with some special type of plastic that inhibits bacterial growth.

I think its glad bags who now have a bag that you can pull the air out using a small suction device.
There are many things like this on the market, not sure which is best but I'd read up on them and wait a while more before buying any...

    to not waste your money.

If the Debbie Meyer ones are the same as the EverVert or Evergreen bags (ie: kind of a green bag), they are great. They are a little expensive (4.99 at Whole Foods for 10 large bags) but you can wash them and use them until they fall apart (or until ydh forgets and throws them away grrrr). I have had lettuce last 2 weeks + while in those bags! I also put bananas in them on the counter and the bananas last a little longer then just out in the air. Of course, that means less banana bread...

The local tv station in our area does a weekly "does it work segment". They tested the green bags and found they really didn't do much to preserve the food.

    Is this a coincidence?

Before today, I had never heard of these bags and then, joila!, there's a thread here about them AND I got an e-mail promotion for them today.

Anyway, the promo says it's "double the offer." $9.95 for 20 bags (10 large; 10 medium).
