What Small Blessings Have Helped You With Your Budget This Month?
A few small blessings have really helped us to make ends meet this month:
We were on our last jar of jelly & my mom stopped by & gave us a jelly gift set that she recieved for Christmas & since my dad can't have sugar, she gave it to us.
I went through a bunch of shampoo & body wash samples & combined them(2 separate bottles- 1 for each) & that helped w/toiletries.
I recieved some items off of Freecycle.
What little blessings have helped you this month?

My main blessing was finding Frugal Village. The ideas and cyber companionship have helped my outlook immensely! I don't have many in person friendships any more, due mainly to my son's behaviors...so having this forum is like a life line to me.

Leftover ham from Easter has saved me from my HUGE stash of beef that we've been eating entirely too much of. DH has picked up many more jobs as well as tuning into Dave with me. Freebies with coupons. Magazines my sister gave me ~ easier to avoid temptation in the grocery line. Free time to declutter and inventory stuff (thank goodness for snow days!)

hubby has been layed off for the last 3 weeks with no end in sight. Our county gave every home owner a tax refund of the amount we overpaid them in 2007. That came last week and it was a blessing! Also, hubby has been doing odd jobs for cash and that has helped.

Getting a free dishwasher from my mom. She and my stepfather just bought a house and decided to change out all the kitchen appliances. The dishwasher they gave us is only 4 years old, while our old one was at least 12 years old and was leaking. This weekend we're going down there to pick up their 3 year old refrigerator to replace our 10 year old one.

For us, it has been a variety of things.
A neighbor gave us a loaf of bread she couldn't use.
My Mom gave us some homemade rolls.
The grandparents gave the girls some new pencils, coloring books and writing tablets that are being put to good use.

Free Carolina/River rice coupons from a friend.
Also, I wrote to several "natural food" companies asking for coupons, and I got a lot back--some frees too

I found the free after rebates at Rite Aid and the grand opening sales they had on Medicine, Household, and HBA products to be a blessing for our stockpile. I also stocked up on 9 jars of applesauce for $3 during their grand opening sale.

i found 40 dollars in the bottom of my purse.
11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.
