Talking My pity party is over....

I am feeling a lot better. I got some stuff done on and weekend and I slept a lot. My flu or whatever plague I was carrying has greatly improved and I had the clening lady come in yesterday. My house is not perfect or spotless but if surprise company came over I would actually open the door now without feeling the need to apologize for the mess.

Thank you so much for the 4 pages of cyber hugs. I was really in a funk and you helped a lot. I am getting ready for a BIG yard sale to ditch some stuff. I have given the kids a couple more chores ( much to their dismay), and I am just trying to turn a blind eye to some of the mess.

Some of you suggested downsizing - I had thought of that, but really, my mortgage is far cheaper than rent, and my house is only half of the mortgage I was approved for. In fact, the small size of the house is part of the problem - there is simply not enough room. Thus some stuff has to go. Because child support is extremely sporadic, the income I make is necessary to keep my kids in jeans that are long enogh, if not designer. Part of my hours are early morning, so the kids are not missing out on time with me. (much).

Thank you all again, you really helped me through a whine-fest! Hugs to you all.

As I read your posts, I am amazed at how you keep everything together for your girls. It is my personal opinion, that single, working moms are heroes. Glad you are feeling better.

Daisygirl, glad to hear you are feeling better. I always enjoy your posts (love the weekly menus! I think I'm going to start doing Once A Week cooking too). Plus I have great admiration for you. Heck, I'm single with no kids and my house is a disaster zone! So much so that I even lurk on a messy/squalor site for people who struggle with housekeeping to help me cope.

In my estimation, you're doing an outstanding job and a true inspiration to all of us here. The fact that you're in Ontario too makes you feel like my neighbour. I know some single mothers and none of them have achieved anything close to what you have (good steady job, own house, good money management skills etc.), especially knowing your backstory and how far you've come (I vividly remember your story about dumpster diving out of necessity, not choice, when your ex left you with no money). Be proud of your achievements and keep on posting here because I love reading about your life.
    Debt-free forever!
