How did you rebel as a teenager?
I didn’t rebel too much when I was younger. I was a slacker somewhat in school but that was my choice because I’d rather watch tv or go on the internet instead of doing my homework or study. I’ve tried alcohol a handful of times but never got drunk.

Me neither. Guess I dated the "bad boys", and slacked in school. (Largely due to the fact that I did not care, and largely due to the fact that my parents did not pay much attention to grades anyway....) Then I met my husband when I was 16-we started dating-and got married 3 months after I turned 18...guess now looking back I sure did not give myself much time to rebel anyway! LOL But I drank a VERY few times. Oh! I smoked too-but then so did my parents, not that mom would let me but dad did. Then I quit-gosh, 8 or 10 years ago now. HA! But as far as the drugs and drinking and things...I just never really understood it. Even now! HA

I did a goth phase - wore all black, black nail polish. Nothing with chains though! I spent a lot of time online on BBS's too.

Well I did all kinds of stuff. It's crazy my dad died when I was 10 and my mother died when I was 17. I was going into my junior year of high school so not only was I dealing with high school/teenage drama stuff I was now dealing with losing my mother. I went from being an alright student to missing so much school that I almost didn't graduate. They wouldn't and didn't give up on me. I did graduate with my class and the asst. principal cried. Still not sure if was tears of happiness or relief that he didn't have to deal with me anymore.
I drank so much and didn't some stupid things. Looking back now I wonder how I ever survived. I got involved with drugs and the wrong people.
I have come along way from then and it's just crazy to look back to those days.Sue

I was a straight A student and in honors and GT classes all through school. I didn't party, smoke, or drink. (Heck, I didn't even cuss in those days. My, how things have changed
)When I was 16, I became ill with endometriosis and ovarian cysts. I missed so much school that I was told that I would have to repeat a school year. I decided I wasn't about to do that, I dropped out of high school, took my SATs early, got my GED and started college early. Unfortunately, I also moved out, found myself a deadbeat boyfriend and became pregnant by the time I was 18 and an unwed mother at 19. *Sigh* Boy, I guess when I finally decided to rebel, I did it in a BIG way. Oh well, all's well that ends well, I guess.

Sue--

I was my alcoholic Dad's oldest daughter. He practiced on me. He was insane and followed me in the car when I was out with friends--which was almost never. I didn't try anything--ANYTHING.
I just counted the days till I was 18 and done with HS and could move out. Then--surprisingly, I didn't go too nuts rebelling. I worked hard and saved to go to school and have a normal life.

Umm.....yeah. Wild child here. Nuf said.
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
— From a translation of an inscription on
an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

I was in high school and college in the 60s. I just wasn't the rebel type, and neither were most of my friends. Guess the closest I ever got to that was once when I smart mouthed my mom. Note I said, "ONCE"!
