I Am Such a Goof!
I cannot believe I did this.
Being fairly new to the Walgreens reward system, I made a BIG mistake.
This month they have in their reward catalog that you can buy $20 of colgate products & recieve $10 back.......okay, here's where I made a mistake....looking at the qty. box next to each reward offer, some rewards have a stated limit as to how much you are allowed to recieve & some do not....the colgate products included.....so I think "wow, this is cool - I can fill out my stockpile & get partially paid for doing so. So I bought like $64 worth of colgate products thinking that I would be getting at least $30 back - BOY WAS I WRONG! It wasn't until later, when I was flipping through the back pages of the catalog that I saw the reward ad for the products advertised in such a way that it looked inconsistant compared w/ the form that you fill out -so I called the main office - and they told me that even though the quantity box is blank on the form (while others are not) there is a limit....I can only get $10 back even though I had bought more.
I should have examined the catalog a little more closely.GGGRRR The bright side is - is that I filled out my stockpile on some items, but the bad side is - is that I could have gotten a better deal buying some of it at another store. In a way, I feel that the way that Walgreen's has their catalog laid out is misleading. Talk about an expensive brain fart.

As long as you have your receipt, you can always take the extra back!

I would take the extra back. I had a similar thing happen with candy. I don't even eat candy but they were going to pay me to take it so why not. Well lets just say I ended up returning an awful lot. I didn't have a problem with they returning it.

I wouldn't feel bad about returning the extra. Its not your fault they left the box blank. I would be clear on why I'm making the return if they want to know. Its easy to miss limits if they aren't on the page & you have to look somewhere else for the information.

I hate programs like this...Menard's does the same thing, but instead of a check you can put into your bank account you are issued a store credit...what makes them think I will need to buy something from them in the future?

This afternoon, I marched my tail back to Walgreens w/ the dishsoap & got my money back -no hassle.....then on the way out of the store, they had their Easter candy 75% off....made out like a bandit & spent $5 for $15 worth of candy -the houseapes were happy & I still have enough to fill out my dishsoap stockpile w/money left over -I guess I'm having the last laugh

Good for you! I hate it when stores do that.
