Default Beware Of Infant Safety Spoons

Just wanted the moms here to be aware of Munchkin safety spoons. I had bought a pack of 5 & at first they were great, then recently my son bit down on one & a piece of the protective coating(that tells you if the food is too hot) came off & he swallowed it. Thank goodness he's okay. I had called & left a message w/ the co & they didn't return my call....so today I called them back & explained the problem. They were really nice & told me to send them the spoon. They would compensate us for what we paid for the item, the shipping to send it to them, plus they would give us any product of our choice(we chose a peek a boo teddy bear) and some other free gifts. Wow - talk about bending over backward for the customer.

Scary! I have used those with my younger 2 and never had a problem. I do know that some aren't supposed to be put in the dishwasher because it gets too hot and causes the plastic to break down.

That is nice that they are sending you some goodies!

That truly shocked me as well & kids are too fast....but my son is doing well -no problems.Thank goodness that he didn't choke & the spoons are made of non-toxic materials.I could understand about putting them in the dishwasher - that's what makes this incident stranger still- we don't have a dishwasher...It just puzzles me to death why it happened. I am sure that ours is a rare happening - I just wanted to warn the other moms here to be cautious.
