    Default Good mail day today....

    got my mail and there were a couple of bills, expected, and a check for $449.14. We refinanced the mortgage and the new bank overpaid the old bank by that much so they sent it to us. Its going into savings on Monday but we are being bad tonight and going out to dinner as dh leaves at 4 a.m. tomorrow and wont be back till Friday. Got to love unexpected money

    Unexpected money is always a good thing...but, if your new holder overpaid your old holder for your refi you are paying interest on that money through your mortgage payment. If your savings interest rate isn't as high as the mortgage rate you may want to consider paying it on your principle (just a thought).
