Glucosamine, Chondroitin, & MSM for arthritis?
Anybody use this supplement for their joint pain? It seems to have been around for quite a while, so I'm thinking it's pretty safe, but I'm wondering how effective it actually is. I have achy joints... knee, ankles, wrists, lower back, esp in the morning and in the evening. Anybody have any experiences to share with using it? Thanks.

I have REALLY bad arthritis in my right hip....I mean REALLY bad. I am basically waiting till I cannot stand it to have it replaced. I have tried everything. Sorry, but for me, nothing helps, I just limp...ALOT!
Hopefully, others will have some more constructive suggestions.

I don't have arthritis, but it runs in my family starting at an early age (I'm 24). So I take GNC's Triflex formula daily to hopefully offset arthritis. I also a give my dog and cats glucosmaine/chondroitin/msm formula as a preventative.

I don't know anyone personally who has used this combo human wise...but, we used it for our old dog and it really did make a difference in him. He suffered from joint pain a lot and after just a couple of weeks he could move a whole lot better.

We take it. Bob's arthritis is much worse than mine. He experimented first with glucosamine, then with condroitin then the two with msm. He was also trying to get by without taking full dose, but when he went up to full dosage of a good glucosamine/condroitin/msm formula he finally started getting results. Sorry but I don't know the amounts of each in the formula.
But I do have to say that we made a lot of changes all at once because he was taking Celebrex and when similar drugs were being taken off the market I refused to wait till it was gone to find something to replace it. My dh was pretty non-functional from the pain at times and I did not want lose my husband to pain again. We always do our own research then run it by the doc -- she usually approves though.
But we did dietary changes at the same time. In fact we were pretty much trying anything at that time -- we were desperate. So it's hard to tell what exactly worked. But I just talked to dh about this and he said awhile back he tried cutting back on the glucosamine formula to try to save money and it did not work. So apparantly it is doing something.
He still has some pain -- especially when it is cloudy or rainy, but he is still able to get out of bed and go to work. It doesn't even compare to how bad it used to be.
Even though Celebrex was not taken off the market the doc okayed him to try stopping it. He hasn't taken it since.
But of course any and all personal health/medical decisions should be made with your health care provider.

My doctor told me that Glucosamine and Chondroitin (in combination) give relief for 70% of arthritis sufferers. Unfortunately I must be in the other 30% !!
