Wal-mart (Picture Me) Portrait Studios
Has anyone used the Picture Me studios inside Wal-mart? What was your experience? My son has school pictures coming up and they want $40 for a package! I have thought about taking him to Wal-mart myself and getting the $7.99 package. I believe they give you the first pose you say yes to. Is this correct? I don't want to buy anything but the introductory offer. Is this easy to do? TIA!

The pics come from the first pose.
I always pay cash because a few times they charged the wrong amount to my card and then I had to dispute the charge.
I'm taking my kids this weekend for pics.

We take them there as opposed to school pictures because you can control the pose and final picture. Much cheaper than the school and much nicer also.

I prefer the walmart studio too. I can chose the pose and background. It works for us. And I never had a problem with t heir photographers or the process.

Soooo, glad I don't have to do school pictures anymore. I always ended up buying the smallest package I could and then going to Sears back in the day when those were fairly reasonable.
Never did have to shell out a huge $$ for DD senior pics though. My resourseful girl and future frugal diva saw no sense in purchasing from a studio when she had a friend who was an excellant photographer who took hers for free and she developed them at a local quality studio all for the tidy sum of $20.00. No way was she going to pay 300.00 to 600.00 dollars for studio portraits.

We have gotten a lot of pictures taken at Walmart and they have always been great. You can also purchase the disk for your computer. So just buy the one package and the disk and you have all of the poses they took to print out yourself off of your own computer.

I guess I'll buck the trend. I didn't like the way the pick the pose is for the cheapest deal. The photos in general were below avg. of other places I've been and the photog didn't know what she was doing.

We have always used Walmart instead of buying school pictures and have been, for the most part, happy with the quality and what we paid for them.

Wow, so you are one of those people that so many of us have lost our jobs over. I just want everyone to be more aware of what they do to us when all we sell is the advertised package. the 4.99 or the 7.99 is what gets us fired. I have 6 kids to support and a hefty mortgage and I got let go because my sales average was too low.

Just FYI, you can't get the disk on a floppy like you used to. They now sell you a CD if you want it, and it costs $99 because it includes the copyright release.

The only gripe that I've ever had was that the photographer always insists that you view the rest of the photos - even after you tell them "I only want the special". It's their way of getting you to buy more than you planned to.
They do a great job though
