I JUST want to be home again!
How did you hear about frugal village?
GOOGLED Frugal'd
What interests you here?
I absolutely love the support that seems to go about. It seems fun to see games and challenges. It is being mindful of spending that helps to create the mindset of frugalness.
What will you contribute?
LOTS! I spent nearly all my life being frugal. As a result, I have aquired a great deal of skills and knowledge. I am by no means an expert (except in my nursing career), but I can say that I have acquired a great deal of wealth and I am still debt free.
Just so you know, I am a little shy at first and might just sit in the corner a while until I feel it is safe to speak.
Do you know any other members here?
I do not, but I look forward to meeting many. I am a friendly person.
How many kids? Ages?
I have three very bright well-adjusted children. 21 year old son and daughter twins and a 19 year old daughter. All three are in colleges across New England. I am very proud of their accomplishments. My 21 year old twins are frugal by nature and have a good understanding of saving, but my 19 year old needs a bit more help.
Tell us about yourself.
I was married young and foolish, but had three wonderful children. My first marraige ended and I suddenly became a single mom with three babies. What I thought was tighwaddery at that time- was NOTHING compared to what I had to endure being on my own, as a full time student with three young scared children with no support from their father. Anyway... I'm over that.
Next chapter; After I finished nursing school, I married a wonderful man who made life easier for me, but I never stopped my frugality, becuase I knew the value of a dollar.
Naturally, my husband enjoyed this little feature too. In my opinion, it makes for a very happy marraige- would you agree?
It's been thirteen years with my fantastic husband and we've amassed a bit of wealth in the process. We own everything we have~ house, cars, furniture, etc. We pay cash everything, including cars.
So, today, right now- I needed to return to work to pay for college tuition and expenses. Again, we pay cash for everything- and tuition up here is costing me $68K per year for all three. It's killing me. I did not have the foresight, nor the cash at the time to start a savings account when they were young.
I am counting the days to when I can return home (although! the pay is quite handsome at $90K/yr... I'm thinking I might work a couple of years beyond the college tuition to put aside a healthy chunk. Haven't decided yet- but would you say that idea is a good one?)
Do you own any pets?
Oh dear! I am the cat lady.

I will say no more. Well.. maybe one thing.... I couldn't help it! I swear!
Occupation?
I am a Registered Nurse. I have a Masters Degree. For years I worked as a floor nurse or bedside nurse. I loved it. This type of work was great because I had the flexibilty to work when I wanted. If evenings worked better- I switched to evenings, for a stretch.... I did nights. I never worked fulltime (until now)
Married or single?
Happily married.
Interests and hobbies?
I have so many hobbies and interests I thought perhaps I might have Manic disorder. Everything fascinates me (well maybe NOT sports so much) that I must learn about it. I like to learn something new every single day of my life.
But for now.. I will say my hobbies are sewing (I went to trade school for 4 years when I was younger), photography (but I don't get to enjoy that much with the advent of FT work- but I do carry my camera with me in my bag), ride bike, walk, hike, garden, crafts, frugalling (such a fun challenge.. isn't it?.
