What is your favorite comfort meal?
What's your favorite comfort meal? What do you crave when your feeling off kilter? I don't mean the chocolate or sweet stuff some of us dig into. I mean the real food.
Pasta with cheese and sauce!
I have a couple of them but they all seem to stem around pasta filled with cheese, like ravioli, cheese lasagna, or a bowl of pastina with riccotta and sauce mixed in.
I think it's kind of telling that I grew up in an Italian household. Is your comfort meal one you grew up eating or did you get a taste for it later on?

You know, for me it depends on what kind of comfort I need.
But, for the general, bluesy, off-kilter, blah feeling... it's always Chinese take-out.

My mom used to make a frugal dish for our big family that was macaroni, cheese, and tomatoes. Just that--with crushed potato chips or soda crackers on top--whatever she had. I consider that comfort food.
Or--her scalloped potatoes--I could eat just those for a meal.
I still make both dishes.

Mmmm....fried chicken. I second that. I also think homemade soup is a comforting meal.
My favorite comfort foods that my mom would make were roast with mashed potatoes and gravy, and chicken ala king.
How much we enjoy what we have is more important than how much we have. Life is full of people who have more than they know what to do with, but cannot be content. It is the capacity to enjoy life that brings contentment.---Unknown

country fried steak or fried chicken with mashed taters and gravy. Gotta have buttermilk bisuits to go along with. Also, a big ole bowl of banana pudding just has to make anyone feel better!

Peanut butter toast with honey drizzled on top and hot chocolate with mini marshmallows.
I also like to indulge in fried chicken and mashed potatoes for comfort a few times a year.
