EEK!!!!!! I NEVER thought I would see this day! Gas prices!
Gas has reached an all time high of $3.55 per gallon here and there is no relief in sight. I wish that dh and I did not live so far out in the country now. We have to travel so far to get everywhere!

Do you think I can put a side-car on a moped so I can bring DD to school????

If this keeps up (no pun intended) I am going to have to move closer to her school... sad, when buying a house is the more economical choice!
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I guess once school gets out I will only be leaving the house once a week or less. Maybe I will just throw the keys away and forget I even have a car.

Gas is killing me. I try really hard to limit my trips and combine what ones I can, but I'm still having to fill my gas tank every six days or so. I don't let it get too low but it's still costing me about $55.00 each time.
My youngest son decided to skip track this year and I'm glad because it would've been a 24-mile-round-trip every afternoon to pick him up at school after practice and meets.

It is 3.39 here is NE Wisconsisn. I hate filling up my mini van and wish I had a smaller car but can't fit all the children in a smaller one.

I filled up this morning at $2.21 a gallon. I dread seeing the price when i leave work today.
Lady V how's the moped working out for you? A couple of years ago I actually took motorcycle lessons which didn't work out. Yes I am a motorcycle school drop out!:surprise:
But i'm seriously thinking of getting a scooter or moped to woosh around town and if i can find a way to take back roads to my work place which is an hour away i may do that also.
is putting around at 20 mph a worth it??

My husband is actually going to be getting rid of his beloved 16yr old Pathfinder. This has been the most wonderful vehicle we have ever owned, but the gas for his commute is running us over $400/month. We homeschool, so we (the children and I) only drive two days a week for local classes. Otherwise, I invested in some baskets for my bike and we walk or bike to the local grocery store, library and small neighborhood park. We have cut down on our trips to the museums and nature trails since December, maybe once every two months right now. I have 3/4 tank in the van right now and I am going to try to make it last me at least the next three weeks.

For those of you still seeing it under $3.55 a gallon I suggest a fill-up with the way most of us have seen a jump today. Ours jumped .27 today to $3.55 for the cheapest.
