Default What do your dishes look like?

Mine are Phalzgraf (sp?) and they are the retired blueberry pattern. I've had them for 15 years and everytime I think about getting rid of them and buying different ones, I talk myself out of it. I can think of better ways of spending the money. KWIM? I also like them in cycles. Right now I don't mind them so much. Much to the dismay of my mil, we never registered for china when we were getting married. Fifteen years later and I still don't regret that decision.

Anyway--what do you eat off of?

Mine are a set of Corelle...the ivy retired pattern. I really like 'em still...they're starting to show a bit of fading after 8 years...but I don't care!

We didn't register for anything either...probably because we were married at a court house with my aunt and uncle as witnesses and no guests. It was small, quick, and frugal...perfect!!

Didn't register for china here either. Our plate set is just a cheap Gibson ceramic/pottery kind. They are white with some kind of raised grape design around the edges. I like the way food shows up on the white. I HATED the bowls that came with the set and have passed them on. We use our Christmas bowls and small plates that I asked for when I fell in love with them at Dillards. They are a sweet shop pattern. I don't have the set as I think the plates are too busy but I have the bowls, mugs, and cake plates. I asked for some one year for Christmas. We use these all year.

The four salad plates near the top, the four soup cereal bowls almost right after amd then MUGM2 is an example of my mugs. We didn't pay the prices listed. We got a few sets of 4 pieces each for about 7.99 to 9.99. Normally I would say even that's high for dishes but we love these and they are all constantly in use.

We bought two boxes of plain white sets at Old Time Pottery. We went with two identical boxes (both services for 8) since I am such a klutz.

~We had 4 place settings of Sasaki Palazzo but a few pieces have been broken. We also have a few settings of clear glass and asian style crackleware. We have 12 settings of silver rimmed china for when guests come over. The Sasaki was the only one I picked out and it's discontinued. Now I plan to buy some Corelle in Enhancements when the price drops to 50% off at Amazon. It's been in my cart for 7 months now.~

We have white Pfaltzgraff dishes. there's some kind of design along the edge. We have added bowls that have the same edging, but have grapes on them. The winterberry pattern also has the same edging, so I could add a few pieces of those if I get bored. We've had these dishes for 13 years. I don't plan to replace them until they literally fall apart.

Could you add a few "non-blueberry" coordinating pieces to spice it up?

I wouldn't get rid of my dishes...check an antique store & see just how much they're worth! We eat off china plates I have picked up @ Goodwill. None of them matches. I also use cloth napkins.

They are square plates and bowls in white and reddish-brown. I have been looking for a pic of them, but no luck... not even at the replacement site

We have both Pfaltzgraf Melissa and Summer Breeze. The place settings are all Melissa with some compliment pieces being Summer Breeze. They work well together.

We have 3 sets that we use.....One is a set of Gibson stoneware...sort of the tuscan design with blues and yellows, not wearing well at all. Another set is Corelle with a gold design around the edge that matches my pyrex bowls that I got when we got married (ahem, 31 years ago...so maybe you could call them retro...???). And the last is not really a set as I just have the plates, Corelle, white. They're my favorites. I always pick up the odd white plate when I see it at the thrift store. Plan to do away with the stoneware before long. Oh I also have a partial set of desert rose, fransiscan ware that I'm adding to. It's my 'fancy' dinnerware. I have 3 sets of china (1 was my Granny's, 1 was given to me and the other was a set I got myself years ago---all are grocery store type china but very pretty. I plan on giving these to the kids before long)

I have a set of china that was my mothers that I seldom ever use. For everyday I have the white Corelle plus my favorite everyday plates are some cheapos that I picked up at Dollar Tree. The Dollar tree plates are the colorful fiestaware knockoff colors. I would love to have a set of the Desert Rose dishes.
