    Default Yes you can

My grandmother's home remedy and it works fast. Take about 1/2 cup of lemon juice and same amount of water put one teaspoon of cream of tarter in it. I usually put some sugar or sweetner in it since it dosen't taste good makes it taste more like lemonaide. It usually works in an hour or two gave it to ex once when he was rolling in floor from pain he still wanted go to hospital I drove him the 12 miles there and as I started to pull in the drive he said lets go home I feel fine now.Oh also drink plenty of water afterwards.

Garlic is proven to fight infections. Put a dab of honey on a spoon, mince a clove of garlic and put it on the honey and then another dab of honey and swallow. I'm not sure if it will work for a UTI.

Make sure the cranberry juice actually has juice in it. Some cranberry drinks have less than 5% real cranberry juice. Drink all the water you can to flush your system. Ditto the garlic, good for infections. Sorry you have to deal with this, I know how painful it can be.

Ann - I think you can buy some over the counter medication. I think it's something that you can take before it gets really bad. Call the drugstore and ask. IDK how much it may cost - but it's cheaper than a visit to the doctor. Drink plenty of water and get some rest! Hang in there!

Ann, I have suffered for years w/ reoccurring UTI's & they are no fun.We finally found out what was causing this & The #1 thing that has helped me is something called "Palo Azul"- it means "Blue Water Bark". Anyway, steep a piece of the bark in 1 cup of hot water for about 2-3 minutes. It really doesn't have much of a taste. It takes at least 2 cups of the tea. Also, it might be a good idea to limit your intake of starches, yeast, sugars & coffee - these factors irritate the system.
Something my mother swears by (it didn't work too well w/me, but it might for you) 1 tsp of baking soda mixed w/1 cup of water. Drink it quickly b/c it tastes like crap.

I buy cranberry pills and when I feel one coming on I take 3 or 4 pills a day until I feel better. Usually only takes a few doses.

Some people take the pills on a regular basis to ward off the UTI's

There are OTC meds available. Also could you ask your doctor to call something in for you to the pharmacy without having to go in and make an appointment? If you've had a UTI before they may do that. And many antibiotics they prescribe typically are on the $4 plan at Walmart. Your health is important, wouldn't want it to progress to a kidney infection!

The OTC meds only help with the pain and don't cure. If you really have a UTI you need an RX. See if the dr. will call one in for you.

I don't have a regular doctor. The one I had left a few yrs ago and since then I have been bouncing around. I haven't needed a Dr. since we moved so Idon't have one. Will have to go to a clinic and pay at least 45 to see a doctor then if I get lucky I can get a 4$ med. So Im still looking at 50 bucks at the least. I just don't have it because I had to pay for dd's x-rays and cast removal today. NO MATTER WHAT MY KID COMES FIRST.

I second the cranberry pills. You can get them almost anywhere. Along with lots of water, they work like a charm. Feel better.

Ouch! For a urinary tract infection, my recommendation would be cranberry juice. Since you are already doing that, all I can offer are some

AYIEEEE I was in the same boat last year. I had the mother of all bladder infections and I tried all sorts of home remedies and to make a long story short I ended up at the kindey specialist office with my kidneys functioning at 24% capacity. I believe that this was due to one UTI home cure where you drink a table spoon of sea salt & water mixture twice a day. Needless to say I don't reccomend it. I have been fortunate and my kidney function is back to normal but it was a scary experience. I've since learned human kidneys really can't process alot of salt or protein for that matter. Before this I did try Collodial silver which worked but then the infection came back in a week.

I know money is tight but I would really go to a doctor and make sure you get this thing nipped in the bud before it gets worse.

Call you counties department of Jobs and family services ask to speak to a social worker. They should be able to tell you if your county has a free clinic or if the local hospital has a women's services department. Also they will piont you to your states free drug program. if you don't have health insurance it's a good bet that if you go to the hospital emergency room they'll cover a good chunk and at least let you make payments.

As a sufferer of recurrent UTI's, first let me give you MANY MANY hugs! I would rather give birth than have a UTI. Seriously. I haven't had one, KNOCK ON WOOD, for about 2 years now. I take cranberry pills every day to give me an extra edge to not get one. Here is my ultimate fix for bladder infections, though. I found it online 3 years ago, and I swear by it! The symptoms are literally gone by bedtime for me, it's just amazing. The website is: www.nativeremedies.com
The price of a bottle is $27, which was such a small price to pay to get rid of the nasty infection. I have had my same bottle for almost 3 years now as I don't have to use that much if I start to notice the symptoms.

    Hope you feel better soon!!
