    Default Folger's Coffee Rant

I had been writing out my grocery list & I needed to buy 1 16oz jar of Folger's instant. I usually buy this at Sam's & it lasts me about 3 months.I also saw where Walgreens had the same product on sale 8oz for 4.49 limit 3. So I go to check my price book & the last time I bought coffee it was 8.48 for 16oz. Just to be sure about any price increase, I called Sam's & asked how much Folgers was selling for now - $9.23!!. Needless to say, this time around, I am going to buy 2 8oz jars at Walgreen's for 8.98 w/ 2 .25 coupons. A savings of .75 - but in a way, not really b/c it jumped .75. GGGRRR.BOOOOO HISSSSSSSSSS.

Coffee prices were predicted to really climb by summer, so I am not thinking this will be the last increase we see.

Coffee prices are already getting outrageous. Just at the beginning of the year I was getting a 33oz container of ground coffee (for brewing, not instant) for $5-sometimes $6. Now it's $8 freaking dollars! More for decaf!

Yet again it's an issue of bad crops etc, kinda like wheat.

I was just looking through our weekly flyers and found Folgers (ground) in the 34.5 oz container on sale for $6.49, so maybe I will stock up.

The extra cost we are paying is coming from the increase in fuel prices and the cost of getting it to the store. Be it milk, coffee, bread, whatever, when the store pays more to have it shipped to them the price will trickle down to us. Then we can pay more for gas to get to the store! We live 120 mile round trip from the "grocery store" unless you want to count a convenience store. Needless to say my twice montly trips have now turned into once monthly.

Seems everytime you walk in the stores the prices
have gone up across the board.
