Default All you have to do is ask.

Lets just say that I have been thinking for a while that I really need to replace my non-stick pans. I do not care how careful you are after a few years the non stick comes off.
I decided that I am no longer getting the non-stick ones. I want stainless steel.
I do not want to spend money every couple of years for a new skillets. This seams like a waste of money to me.
So I have been looking and checking the thrift stores for one. No luck there.
Found one a Target that might do the job. It is priced at $40. Little more than I want to spend but it was very heavy but it had tapered sides and I want straight sides.
So last week I got a 30% off coupon for Kohls and I also signed up my email and got a $5 coupon in my email for doing it.
Off to Kohls to look at what they had for stainless steel skillets.
I found one I liked it is a 11 inch 4.5 qt with 3 inch sides and comes with a nice lid. It is oven safe to 500 degrees so It will save on dishes as I will not have to put stuff in casserole dishes to bake.
It is made by kitchen aid so I know it is of great quality.
It had a price tag of $74.99 on it. WOW. But it was on sale for $49.99 and with my $5 coupon and 30% off it came to $38.xx. More than I wanted to pay but is really good quality and will last me a lifetime verses buying new every couple of years.
I brought it home and was getting ready to wash it so I could use it and I noticed that the lid has a very tiny bend in it around the rim.
I got to thinking about it and after watching 20/20 last week about the lady who gets everything for a discount just for asking, I decided that I was going to take my pan back and ask for a discount on it.
It did not bother me that the lid has a bent in it at all. So today while out running errands I took it back and asked for a discount. Guess What I got another 20 % off. So I actually got 50% off the sale price or 66% off retail.
When all was said and done I got my $74.99 pan for $26.xx and will last me forever.
I also went on line last week after I got home and ordered the 8 inch pan that matches it to replace mine that is a non stick. This was on sale and 30% off and I got free shipping also. It should be here Monday.
So do not feel you need to keep something that is not right, just take it back and ask for a discount. If it is something minor like mine and you can live with it you can save some $$$ doing it.

Thats right, it never hurts to ask. Good deal on the pan. Waiting pays off.

One of my favorite sayings to my family is,
"you don't ask, you don't get."
    Good for you.
" May we never let the things we can’t have or don’t have or shouldn’t have spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. As we value our happiness, let us not forget it. One of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy without the things we cannot or should not have."
