Bonjour / G'day / Ni Hao / Aloha / Hi!
I'm going to do this the easy way and just answer the wee questionnaire!
How did you hear about frugal village?
On another forum, somewhat ironically, one that is about handbags - the adoration, pursuit and purchase.
What interests you here?
I'm two months shy of paying off $32k in debt - it will have taken me just 12 months thanks to a lot of determination and frugal ways. I'm continually keen to here more opporunities and ideas for frugality though, so I can continue down this path!
What will you contribute?
An ability, and hints and tips for being frugal without looking like a stinge. In fact, I'm not sure anyone except my DF would actually have noticed I'm spending less. It's a bit like the old adage that in order to have great makeup, try to make it look like you're not wearing any.
Do you know any other members here?
I wasn't referred by anyone per-se... but I might - I'm familiar with the PF blogging community (being a sporadic participant) and I'm a participant in a forum for budgeting software.
How many kids? Ages?
None, and don't plan to ever have any!
Tell us about yourself.
Mid - late twenties (depending upon your definition!), engaged (getting married in January 2010), have lived in four cities across both hemispheres and at the end of this week, I'm moving countries again (hurrah). I love the social and cultural challenges that come with such moves, but they've always been for career reasons. Unfortunately they often present financial challenges which I'm not sure I've always managed the best way possible.
Do you own any pets?
No... but would dearly like to have a scottish terrier. Not sure DF and I are 'ready' yet, but maybe in five or so years when we're more settled.
Occupation?
Digital / Online / Web Marketing. In a nutshell, I make websites meet business requirements. Evidentally I'm not half bad at it or I wouldn't keep getting flown all over the place, I suppose! ;-)
Married or single?
Neither... engaged as aforementioned!
Interests and hobbies?
Handbags, investing, handbags, writing (am writing a book, but more on that another time), handbags, music, handbags and somewhat unbelievably my work 'industry' (although my current job drives me crazy).
Can't wait to get to know you all a little better and enjoy hearing about your frugal ways!
