Sunny Saturday, what cha up to?
I see that a couple of us have gone garage saling. Not me
I wish I had but oh well......I've been puttering around the house so far. The floors are swept, I've skipped around the with feather duster and picked and put up a few things here and there. I've been brain storming over a really cute skirt that I bought at the thrift store the other day. It's too small in the waist but really long and full so I think I can cut it off and salvage it. If not I may make curtains for my bathroom out of it. I just love the fabric in it. Anyway, I've got the sheets off of our bed in the wash, have done about 3 loads of laundry already and am about to sweep off the front porch. The car is getting a wash and vac after that. I'm coming home to do some sort of workout if I have any 'umph' left in me at all and I don't have a clue what's for supper.
Anyone else got anything fun to report?

We hit a few yard sales first thing this morning. Came home and took an hour nap. From there we went to the next county over to pick up DD from my dad's house. Now we are at home for few minutes to get a bite to eat.
We are about to take DD to her friend's house for a slumber party. Then drop off DS at the internet cafe.
We will pick him up later for baseball practice. t=Then take him back to the internet cafe after practice.
DH and I will most likely go out for dinner then pick up DS around midnight.DD (19)

DH and I hit a few yard sales this morning and then headed to the grocery store.
DS#2 and #3 went to the movies with DS#2's GF.
DH has to umpire 2 games this afternoon and I have to be the official scorekeeper for one of the games.
After we are done, we plan on coming home to clean up and have a date night. We haven't been out just the two of us in a few months, so I am excited. :-)~*Michelle*~

No yardsaling here yet. We have been having some really decent weather lately, but today the temp dropped a good 35 degrees from yesterday...ouch! I cleaned out my chest freezer, did dishes, did some visiting and our oldest son & his crew are coming over for dinner. Pretty much been a fairly quiet day!

This is going to sound dumb...what is he doing at the internet cafe?? Well, not him specifically, but what does anyone do there? I have seen them all over the place, but i have no clue what the places are...
At his age group, do some target that group with activities (meaning are there places that cater to different age groups, or is it like a starbucks with computers)? Like I said, i have no idea what these places are all about. I'd love to be enlightened.
We have made a run to home depot, wally world, done dishes, laundry, etc etc.~~ Missy ~~

Been a busy day around here.
Washed, dry, folded and put away laundry.
Cleaned out the fridge.
Cleaned and mopped the kitchen.
Made gravy for tomorrow's dinner.
Washed and deep conditioned my hair.
Sigh....that's enough.

It' s nice and pretty here, so the windows and blinds are wide open. I've done 4 loads of clothes and they were all dried outside. I switched out the winter clothes to the summer clothes and have the winter ones stashed away in tubs in the garage. I've dusted, vaccumed, boiled some chicken, and now have it in the crock with some bbq sauce. My plans for the rest of the day include: reading, sewing and playing outside with DD.

I have done some general cleaning, laundry, baked muffins, fixed early supper. I am now going to settle in for some knitting and movie watching. DH and some friends have rode the bikes over to a Biker Fest to hear Skid Row play. Can anyone say "1980's"?

No yard sale-ing for me either. We went to Lowe's and got some paint to paint the furniture I got off Craiglist earlier this week. Then I spent all afternoon painting the two dressers, dodging rain clouds all the while

Now I have both dressers & all the drawers done, but it's raining for good now. Everything is safely inside. I'll paint the headboard and a couple other pieces I've been putting off tomorrow while dh mows the lawn.

A young man and his wife that we know opened this place for the kids here around age 12-16. Anyone is allowed to go there and play, but 99.9% of the patrons are 12-16. He has 40 computers, two 90-something inch flat screen TVs hooked up to Xbox360s, and every game under the sun. He and his wife keep the place very, very clean. No bad kids, no smoking, no drinking, no cussing, no misbehaving. He will call parents in a heartbeat if anyone breaks a rule or becomes disruptive. If the parents do not respond he will call the police to escort the kids home if needed. Any troublemakers are banned. Although, everyone knows he runs a tight ship so there have only been one or two to act up and test the waters.
He sells sodas and snacks, allows the parents to bring food in for the kids so that no child has any reason to step outside the doors. We have to go in to pick up our kids, they can't just walk out the door. The building is small and he can see everyone at all times. They know all of the kids and parents by name. It is very kid/family friendly. It is really nice for the kids to have a safe place to hang out and socialize without mom and dad.
Parents and kids have to sign "contracts" that say we all understand what is expected, what games each child is allowed to play and the consequences for breaking a rule. Parents decide what rating (E=everyone, M=Mature, The Sims, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, World of Warcraft, Call of Duty 4, etc...) is acceptable for their own child.Last edited by Neeley; 04-26-2008 at 05:16 PM.

The two older girls had soccer games this morning, DH took them so I could stay home with the sniffling/hacking little ones. When he came home he grabbed some lunch and headed back out to his weekend job.
I've done the last load of laundry for this week, getting ready to go get them off the line. Cleaned the kitchen, wrote out the menu for next week, made my grocery list, planted some herbs in the garden, harvested lettuce and sat outside watching the kids play and re-reading The Simple Living Guide.
When DH gets home I'll run out to the grocery store and then fix dinner (pasta and fresh salad).Amy
