Default ACK! Live Mouse In The Washer!!

My washer is in the garage. Imagine this morning when I started the washing machine and there was a live mouse inside. At first I kinda freaked b/c I saw a fast movement out of the corner of my eye & slammed the lid down.lol. Lucky thing that I saw the critter before I started putting clothes in. I grabbed a glove & caught the little beast & disposed of it.ACK! I am always the one in the family that has to do the dirty work -DH is such a sissy.lol.

Oh yuck! I would have been on the floor from a heart attack! I couldn't have touched that for anything!

Yuck, I guess you will keep the lid down now. I don't wanna think about you washing him.

As much as I would like not to think about it, I can totally relate to your story. I had actually left clothes in the washing machine overnight. I went down in the utility room the next morning and realized what I had done. I opened up the lid and turned on the water to wash the clothes again. A rat came out of the washing machine and I LOST it!! Needless to say, I had someone out to set traps the next day and we went on the catch a total of 3 rats. Let me just say that my two cats are totally worthless!!! Then again, the rat wasn't too far off from the cat's size. Also, that load of laundry was totally ruined because the rat gnawed through just about every article of clothing. Of course, I had no desire to wear anything from that load anyways.

Since I witnessed this firsthand, it doesn't matter if the lid to the washing machine is up or down. There is space at the top of the drum that is open, so they are coming in through the bottom of the washer. I saw the rat escape that way.

Oh let me just say, when the Chinese New Year rolled around, I received a phone call to let me know it was the year of the rat. My friends have had a field day with this one.

It always amazes me how bugs/critters get into the house. I always find those stink bugs in the house and never have we opened a window ???
