Hello from England
Hello all
I live in England on the south coast but spend a lot of time in Bulgaria.
I have 2 grown up children , Stuart 29, Marybeth 24 , 2 ex husbands and now a loving partner of nearly 8 years. My soulmate.
I think I have always been frugal out of necessity, my family used to laugh but now its "savvy" and fashionable.
I used to bank a £1 which I had saved from walking home instead of catching the bus. All those £££s added up and along with other savings I finally managed to save enough for a deposit on my first ever house.
I love being frugal its so much fun and very rewarding.
About 6 years ago we decided to quit being wage slaves, both giving up well paid good jobs, to concentrate on making our lives our jobs.
I used to work with the elderly who used to give me lots of advice and the main bit was "Do it now " as tomorrow may never come.
I dont want to have regrets about what I havent done.
After all whats the worst thing that can happen, at least I would have tried.
Someone told me once to draw a chart with 900 squares ,each one representing one month of a aveage life of 75 years. Then start crossing off all the months you have already lived. Very scary.
It made me want to live every day with happiness and love.
We live a very happy, comfortable life and we are wealthier than before.
We could never go back to being wage slaves, we are having too much fun.
Evie

Welcome Evie! I suppose life is lived about the same everywhere. The main difference being your perspective. I look forward to hearing yours.

Evie,
to Frugal Village!
Glad to have you here." May we never let the things we can’t have or don’t have or shouldn’t have spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. As we value our happiness, let us not forget it. One of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy without the things we cannot or should not have."
