My dh thinks I'm way off base and gone overboard on this frugal stuff....hehehe
One day he'll thank you for it!

My dh is totally on board and at times is more frugal than I am. He won't purchase anything new and prefers to find everything free. It wonderful because he stopped thinking I was crazy years ago.

We are pretty much the same as far as being frugal, he likes the idea of saving instead of spending and he comes up with some good ideas on his own to help out too.

MY DH and I are on the same frugal wavelength most of the time. We are blessed to work really well together as a team. I keep the grocery budget low and find us great deals on things and hubby can build or fix most things around our home.

My dh adores what I do. He used to get all antsy when I checked grocery tapes TILL he saw how much I got back in their mistakes. He loves it when I do that now, if I forget he reminds me. He likes my little habits, didn't used to think they would add up so much.
Recent coup was the light bulbs. Last year I bought about 100$ worth of the compact flourescent bulb types, to replace the 60 and 100 watt regular electric bulbs.
They suck 13 and 21 watts respectively now. AND it made enough to pay off the bulbs and then some last year.
So now we saving money even better. And he initially thought it was a stupid idea.
I've been after him for YEARS to turn off the computers at night. I wanted him to do an energy audit (he works for the electric utility for pete's sake!)
Finally he did it and I've not said anything but he is turning them off at night and getting after me to do it if I'm the last one to come to bed.
Took time but he's listening and applauding me. Now if I think a particular improvement will save money he is all for it.

My dh thinks I'm nuts, but he keeps building me more shelves for my stockpile. At least he doesn't question me anymore.

My hubby is more frugal than I. He'd live as sparsely as possible & would be as happy as a bug in a rug. He's a big time low maintainance guy. If he could he'd live in a hut & fend for himself. Or since he has a family ,he'd love to just live off the fruits of his labor. No special frills (except his beer & martini's) just happy without oweing anybody anything..
