Default anyone thinking about New Year's Resolutions that aren't financial?

Of course we have several threads already about financial goals for 2009 but my financial house is in order, thanks in large part to FV.
So a few goals not related to finances....

    1) Love more freely.
    2) Let my guard down, even if it means exposing myself to potential heartache.
    3) Forgive more easily and completely.
    4) Live in the moment instead of the dwelling on the past or worrying about the future.

Come to think of it if I can just do number 4 the rest should fall into place.

My non-health, non-money related resolution is to spend more time practicing the keyboard.

Most of mine are not financial, including learning new skills and being better about not procrastinating about things that need doing.

Get out of my comfort zone more and let those around me know how much I love them I really need to work on nurturing my friendships it's so easy to just think "well they know I appreciate them and we're all so busy" friendships and families are precious and I need to be more grateful for that.

My goals for 2009 are part financial, part something else.

My goal for 2009 is to be independent and stand on my own two feet. This is partially financially, but more importantly I want to be independent in my faith, in my heart, in my mind. I want to live...on my own terms. And thats what 2009 is about for me.

    Im scared and excited

I haven't decided my exact "resolutions"

I want to get in much better shape this year. Gain some muscle and lose the extra fat.

    Organize my house.

I feel like I need to be a lot more specific so I'll actually reach my goals, but that's all I've got for now! =)

I want to be more positive, and I'd love to learn how to like myself. I can't say "better" because I honestly don't like myself at all.

I plan to be prepared for the expected and unexpected.........like the good boy scout that I am..........LOL. I also intend to wear more dresses and skirts, and aprons, and more feminine clothes because they just make me feel good. I'm going to try to be a better housekeeper, and maybe even try my hand at sewing this year.

A friend once told me that when she has to work with someone she doesn't like that she finds a way to compliment that person EVERY DAY. Sometimes it takes effort and could be something as simple as admiring a piece of jewlery but it must be every single day; she told me that eventually she has grown to like most of the people she has tried this experiment with and even those she wouldn't call a friend she has learned that they aren't all bad which helps her cut them some slack.

So my challenge to you is to compliment YOURSELF every single day... we are our own worst critics so it can be hard but I know you can do it. (((((hugs)))))

I would like to be able to suffer fools gladly. I have had this same resolution for over twenty years. Oh well, at least I am an optimist.
