I made homemade crackers for the first time today - so I was very proud of myself. That's one less thing I'll need to buy from now on -
some of my April goals are to slowly but surely become more self suffient.... and the crackers, while maybe small, are just another step in that direction....
If new recipes are on your to do list, and you haven't tried yet - I really suggest you try it -
the recipe I used:

My goal for April is to get a garden plan written down on paper. We didn't get as much prep work done as we'd like on our garden area, and this year DS is older and more interested, so I need to take both of those factors into account.
My stretch goal is to fully fund my Roth for 2010. I have $2500 left to go before April 18th (14 days away now!). I don't think I'll make it, but I want to see how close I can get.Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06)

The only frugal goal I have for April is to work up the garden plots. My boy says he's getting a set of plows and disks for his tractor. That will save a lot of roto-tilling.
The only other two goals I have for April are:
1. be alive at the end of the month, and
2. be somewhat prepared for a 6k trail run on May 7th - I plan on running it barefoot.BEF fully funded

My #1 goal is to get my wisdom teeth removed. I haven't been on board too much lately because of some health issues and am trying really hard to get everything straightened out.

I read Born To Run ( not sure if you've read it) and the whole barefoot/less shoe reasoning it presets made a lot of sense to me. When I started getting back into jogging I hadn't run in well over a dozen years, was and still am considerably over what I should weigh, and in that prone to injury middle age bracket. I had cheap, worn down, flat, several year old, $8 sneakers from K-mart. I never had any of the injuries my doctor said I would have or that many of the "in better shape" runner people I know experienced. I got new shoes a couple of months ago after searching out for ones that fit the same as the ones I had, couldn't find any, and settled for "better" ones. After a week I had my first running injury. Since then I've been taking it light, going some barefoot, and looking again for my flat cheap shoes.
Good Luck on your run!
