Okay! This thread is looking good! Nice going ladies, and very nice inspiration coming my way!
So, I got myself started with clearing out a shelf section in the garage that was filled with literal garbage. And except for a few things, that's where most of it went....in the garbage can. Felt good too because I rarely find the "courage" to toss things that seem even a little bit useful. But I did it, and now have room for my "must keeps" from that spare room I want cleared. It would be perfect if I could actually only keep enough to fit in those garage shelves. My dh would be so proud...lol! He's a "tosser" and I'm a "keeper". But maybe that's a goal for another day....we'll see. One thing at a time!
Loving this thread!

I made it to the 1/2 way mark on my afghan. It takes about a 1/2 hour for each row and I have 57 more to go. At this pace, it should take me two more weeks if I can keep plugging away with an hour or two each evening.

Okay, went for a run today and made it to my two-mile mark. It was not pretty, and it took me about eight minutes longer than it should, but I made it.

Okay, so now I'm getting better at this! YAY! I'm figuring it out as I go, and I'm actually seeing daylight!
For 3 days I was in THE room, and took out the stored clothes ONLY. From there I dragged them into my sunroom, and now I'm sorting. I really can't believe just how much stuff is actually in there, because I'm talking 5huge bags of good clothing. This is stuff that I let pile up in hopes of having a garage sale. Well, I'm embarassed to say that I actually have at least 6 years worth of the kid's clothes I was gonna sell, but of course never did.
Well getting the cancer in 2007 didn't help. but still....that's ALOT of clothes to hold on to.
But I made a deadline for myself. If I don't have it together by March 31st for a sale, it's all getting donated! PERIOD!
After I get the clothing worked out, I'll go in and do the house stuff I got in there. That's going to be my "tough cookie" for sure! I like having things for the house stored because I like changing the pictures, curtains, and stuff like that around once in awhile. And afterall it does save me money since I simply "shop the room", kwim? But the thing is to find a better storage solution for the things I just won't part with. But 1st things 1st, and that means getting thru these bags of clothes, and tag them with the intent of that garage sale! Around here in the spring, alot of organizations have sales where you rent a table for $15-$20. Yeah, it will cut into my profit, but they do the advertising, and tons more people go because of the HUGE variety of sellers. I hear the tables go fast, so keeping a watchful eye out in the papers.
I love coming here to "fess up"! Somehow makes it work for me! And glad to see all the progress going on too!
That alone is inspirational!
Good job ladies!
Theresa

Great job, Theresa!!
I agree, take it to a super-garage-sale if you can. We have a flea market here in town, every Sunday, and it is always PACKED with people. You'll make up that $10-15 in no time!!DH aka Mad Hen

A little bit of a roadblock...my back went out on me on Friday, and I can barely walk right now. I am hoping that it is a temporary thing, and not my old back injury reasserting itself, and that a few days of rest will get me back on track. If not, I don't think I'll be making that five mile goal this month. I'm not giving up, and I'm going to be doing everything I can to acheive it, but unless my back cooperates, I'll be lucky to even manage a one-mile walk this month.

Back on the exercise bandwagon. Went to the club and walked on the treadmill. Took me an hour to walk 3.32 miles, but it is a start and the first time I've walked again in a week's time! Still shooting for a five mile run by the end of the month.

Went to the club last night and got my speed up to a 15-minute mile. Made it to 4.03 miles in an hour, part of which was running. I am going to shoot for a consistent 12-minute mile run for an hour. Not sure I'll make it by the end of the month, but I'm going to use that as my target, just to keep pushing myself.
