I've come to these forums today with a purpose; I am looking for support and accountability. My husband and I have agreed on a plan that would allow me the luxury of having the option to quit my "punch the clock" job as of July of 2012 if we can meet some financial goals by that time. In order to have a chance a doing so, not only must I stay within in the budget (which I normally do), but I must reduce discretionary spending so that it is at least 10% below budget. I'm going to every challenge I think can help us meet this goal, and I would love some .

This being said, I am in on this one.

I'm wondering if others set new years' resolutions each year, using that as a time to reevaluate goals from the previous year, or starting fresh, or ???? If your goals have changed significantly over the past year, what is driving that change?

I'm also curious what tools you are finding most effective to help you meet your goals? I know the support I receive here at FV has been very helpful, as have the challenges.

An area that remains very challenging for me is time management -- there's a LOT I want to do and only so much time to do it in.

I have posted my goals for the next 5 years on a separate thread. Onwards and upwards.

To help me achieve these goals. I have set up periodic payments for my loan, rent and CC payments. As a result, I only have to go online to pay my store finance and mobile bill and also the quarterly electricity which i transfer to hubby.
