Secret Dreams or ambitions?
Are you up to exposing your secret dreams or ambitions? How's about I get started...
Most anyone here that has known me any length of time knows I am habitually creative. I have to make/build/create. I craft, craft, craft until I have exhausted my various stashes. I sew, quilt, plastic canvas, scrapbook, knit, crochet, stamp, paper craft, and on and on. But something I havent' been able to do in a very long time is pottery. I used to really love throwing clay on the wheel. I volunteered at the post ceramics shop when I was a minor and taught slip casting (using molds to make ceramic projects, might be so long ago that i have the terms wrong now) and helped out with the firing, teaching glazing techniques and so on. This was probably the most enjoyable part of living at that particular place, and it was pulled out from under me near the end on my high school years. I filled this void with ceramics class in high school, but that only lasted one year, i had to take something else as an elective later on. Back to square one.
my short term goal is to get money together to build myself a ceramics studio (out in my back yard)...even if it were small containing a few (ultimately maybe 5 or 6) wheels, a few maybe 2 kilns, supplies and tools. I'd like to teach small groups the fun of pottery. And I'd like to sell what I made too. I'd like to pass the enjoyment I have of getting wrist deep in clays to my kids. Of creating and accomplishing a project from conception to completion.
I dunno. I may never reach it, but I would really love to have my own back yard studio. That's a dream of mine...one of many.
anyone else care to share your dream or goal?

I want to reorganise the World
I would love to sort out someones house , by changing the colour schemes to maximise the beauty of their particular home.
Re-use what they have more creativly
Make space for things if needed.
Then I would like to start on their Wardrobes & Clothes!
I have tamed my my clothes and wardrobe recently and the paper monster, I am on a roll, so if you just want to give my all your names I will see if I can fit you in to my busy Schedule

I want to buy an old barn and convert it into a gift shop/ craft shop/ antiques store. Maybe with a little coffee shop area in one corner, too. I'd like to take local crafts on consignment, and mix those in with antiques and country stuff. In the back, I'd have a kids' room so that I could bring the kids to work with me, and my employees could, too.
I even spotted a barn the other day that would be perfect. Now if I could just win the lottery....

M ine is very similar to Amy except I would also want to be selling quilting material at cost so that others could create and use color to make their world beautiful. I also would be teaching quilting.Originally posted by AmyMCGS

Great answers everyone.
I have said it before, and I'll say it again, Amy, I love the idea of yours. I love love love the idea of having a place that employees could be close to their kids. What a fantastic idea. I think people would be running a groove in the road racing to get to your place!! Great idea
CJ, i think you'd be a great quilting teacher! I have really enjoyed yout tutorials and have referred back to them several times each to brush up on technique and terms. You'll go far if you follow your dream!
Englishlady, this is highly in demand! I have seen on the television where people have made wonderful livings doing exactly what you are talking about! People are starving for organisation and help getting it! And can you imagine how much more desireable your service would be because it combines STYLE with organisation?? Put me on that schedule list of yours!
I keep revisiting this question in my mind here lately. I have begun to put questions down on paper and am answering the questions myself too. Once I get my thoughts down, I will expand on this question. I totally believe that we only dream to do what the heart means to do... so I am organising in my mind some Q&A's to see if there is a road to make these ideas of mine come to light...maybe the ideas could be worked and stretched to fit someone elses pans/dream? Once I get the idea down in writing so that it makes sense, i will begin posting away.

I dream of getting my book published.
I also dream of being able to perform music. I have made some new friends this year that may be able to help me along with this dream.
With small children, many of my dreams have been on hold for awhile. But, lately, I'm beginning to realize that I can be a good Mom and wife while still pursuing my dreams. It may actually make me a better person for doing so.My Blog: http://amysreallife.com

So, EnglishLady, when are you coming to the Yukon???
I love horses and want a horse ranch. It is horribly expensive to have horses this far north. I absolutely love Arabians, would love to go to Egypt and tour the stud farms. Also, go to Vienna and spend time at the Lippizan school.
There is a time in life for everything, and right now it is for my children. The horses will come later!

My secret dreams are similar to many of yours.
- I want to finish my novel
- I want to write more consistently
- My sister and I have always talked about opening our own decorating/antiques store. We still talk about it but we live 1000s of miles apart so that will have to wait until we're closer to each other.
That's all I can think of right now but I know there are more.

I have always wanted to open a bed and breakfast...and one that is family oriented. A lot I see say "we love kids and pets, but they are not allowed." I think it would be nice to create a smaller place for families to come and visit that wasn't a cold hotel.
But it's like most people's dreams....time and money

There have got to be more that have secret dreams and ambitions. Even if you'll never realize it, how about sharing it with us. I love hearing what everyone's dreams are.
My philosophy in life - ALWAYS DREAM and NEVER GIVE UP ON THAT DREAM. It may change, it may have to be modified, it may only be a dream - still, it makes us who we are and gives us reasons to set goals and work towards something.52 week money challenge - $41.00

I have had many dreams in the past. I really haven't thought about what my ultimate dream is.
I think that Missy and Amy ought to get together. Amy can sell Missy's pottery in her shop
Well it was an idea lol.

alright...so it may have taken years, but I might have gotten one of my goals astep closer!! I MIGHT have found a fantastic price on a kiln.... free!! it all hinges on her schedule and mine meshing and getting help to get it.
if that falls through i have a few leads on some for great prices.

That's wonderful Missy! I hope you get it and I hope the rest of your dream comes true too!! I love handmade ceramics, I collect them, they really beautify the home. I wish I knew how to make them myself but instead I must rely on talented folks like yourself

I have a few dreams, not sure as I am getting older if some of those might change.
1. Be a real estate mogul.
2. With that money I would do more charity work and help out family. Our church has bought a 40 acre farm in Indonesia and they teach the locals to farm. I would love to go but no money at this time. I would also like to provide monthly support.
3. I also have 6 world vision children and would love to add more. I am signing up to be a World Vision ambassador.
4. My mom has always wanted to set up a bed and breakfast. I would do it if I hit the Lotto. I of course would stuff it with antiques.
