May mid-month goal checkup
How's everyone doing with their goals for May? Are you accomplishing them? Anything holding you back? Need some encouragement? We're all in this together! Let's go gals!
As for my goals...
Health
~ Lose 4 pounds - not happening
~ More exercise - aiming for 7/7 - is happening, which makes me wonder why losing weight isn't happening, but there you go.
~ Continue reading Bourne's book and implementing changes - happening. One more chapter to go and I'm finished. Have a list of things to try.
Spiritual
~ Read a spiritual book - DONE!
~ Pray daily and read Bible daily - doing
~ Finish Bible study book I borrowed - DONE!
Household
~ Continue de-cluttering sunroom, living room and dining room - continueing. I am in the dining room now.
~ Megacooking to store up easy meals for hot/busy days in the freezer - isn't happening as of yet. Though I did megacook black beans for the freezer.
~ Make tortillas, lemon squash and bread - DONE! Will have to bake more bread in the next few days.
Family
~ BBQ for dd#1 and her dh. - food purchased for the most part. Just got to put together a dessert and potato salad ahead of time.
~ Figure out a way to celebrate dd#2's homeschool graduation that won't tick her off. She is such a stick in the mud about not wanting a party of any kind.(sigh) What's a Mom to do? - DONE! And I'm not saying what we're doing because I am suspicious she might read these boards.
~ Come up with gift for neice's wedding present. - DONE! The Bay had 60% off Ralph Lauren towels, which just happened to be on her gift registry list. That, plus dh's discount for signing up for a Bay card, netted us 70% off.
Financial
~ Continue to put extra down on mortgage. Hopefully a good $1500 extra this month, or more. We are due for a refund from the tax people. - mortgage is down to $4200. We have $1500 in savings we could put towards it, and our income tax refund hasn't come back yet. We're expecting another $1000 from there to go on it.
~ Have 21 "No Spend Days" (last month was 16). - failing abyssmally. I think I have 6 No Spend Days out of 17 so far. (deep sigh)
~ Make blue jean tote bags and potholders for gifts. - Nope
Hobby
~ Rip apart garments for rug hooking and quilting - started. Just a few more to finish for rug hooking. Then onto the quilting ones.
~ Knit on sweater - not yet
~ Finish baby quilts - started sewing the binding. Next job is to attach it and then handsew it down.
~ Finish blue and orange quilt - nope
~ Crazy quilt a table mat - all ready to embroider, but not started
~ Get help piecing UFOs - not yet
~ Finish quilt-as-you-go quilt - nope
~ Finish rug hooked trivet - DONE!
~ Finish hooking hollyhock rug - nope
~ Finish hooking piano bench cover - working on it, but it's taking longer than I thought.
~ Finish "Hardanger Hearts" kit - DONE!
~ Finish cross-stitch Christmas ornament - DONE!
~ Finish cross-stitch bellpull - Almost done. Just have to sew it together and put it on a hanger of some sort...which I have to buy.
~ Start scrapbooking again - nope
Garden
~ Put garden in by May long weekend - actually getting a head start on this. I put out most of my plants last night. Will put seeds in tonight I hope. May need to buy a few plants...like cucumber, but that will be okay to wait awhile.

Working on Goals
Have lost 8.5 lbs. of the ten I had set as a goal so just might make it.
Have 100% de-cluttered my porch, kitchen and 2 bedrooms and am working on the third. Lots of stuff going in the school yard sale and some wasn't even worth putting in it - can't believe some of the stuff I was keeping. Have two bags of pocket books to go to the library at the nursing home.

Third bedroom de-cluttered and everything bright and clean, De-cluttering consisted of throwing away six pair of shoes and one pair of slippers. Have been through de-cluttering so many times with Flylady that in some rooms it is getting hard to find something to throw away. Didn't actually throw them away, donated to charity.
