    Default So, How'd You Do in 2007?

    I've been thinking about my goals for 2008 and suddenly realized that, perhaps, I should check out my 2007 goals and see how I did.

    Fitness - My goal had been to get back down to 120. As of this morning, I was at 120 when I stepped on the scale. That's great. However, more importantly, I had also vowed to exercise at least 2x a week. Well, for awhile there, I was exercising like gangbusters...especially in the spring, summer, and fall. I was walking, hiking, and jogging like a madwoman. Then came the winter weather, and I haven't done diddly-squat since. I feel mushy and am disappointed.

    The next area was frugality and savings. That's pretty much all I have to say about my progress on that goal.

    My final goal was the laundry. To find a system and stick with it. Laundry is my bete noir...my nemesis...the end of me. I HATE laundry. And, as I type, there are three baskets of laundry in my bedroom waiting to be put away. So, that's all I have to say about that.

    So, I didn't do too well in 2007. I think I will revamp some of these goals and add one or two new ones for 2008.

    Anyone else? How'd you do?

    well we didn't get to save as much as money as i would of liked, hubby and the truck did that damage. Maybe a tighter reign on him lol
    The weight was on and off, so hopefully i get through this year better.
    Last year was not only about healing mental part i needed but the physical.
    This new year will be about working outside the house. More about me and my wants and follow through and less about the kids and hubby all the times .

    ~Well, here's my 2007 list with everything I feel I did well in:
    Continue to;
    1. Participate in Grocery Challenges and Stockpiling
    3. Pay extra on car loan and mortgage. Balances to be under $10K car and $63K mortgage Year-End
    4. Contribute 7% of gross pay to 401K with 50% company match
    Do more consistantly;
    3.Finish a sewing project every week
    4. Yard sale like crazy to stockpile kids clothes, shoes
    New Things to do;
    1. Envelope/cash system for DH's wants($25month), entertainment($50 month) and gifts($25 month)
    2.Start some Pre-school/Homeschool activities with Ro
    5. Save change all year as a challenge
    6. Save MyPoints all year
    8. Buy freezer
    9. Can and freeze food items
    Possibly;
    1. Go on vacation
    2. Look for temporary or part-time work to supplement income

    Areas I need to improve next year are mostly kid related. I need to make my yard safer and more inviting so we're outside more. And I need to actually PLAN activities with the kids, including reading time. But, in general, I accomplished so much more this year than I thought I could!

    In a word? Lousy! My goals were to...

    ~ successfully market my book.
    ~ sell the house and move to a new one.
    ~ go on vacation to the Maritimes.

    My mom died. My dad remarried. I broke my foot. My back is in constant pain. We did not do the first two. We did get to the Maritimes, to inter my mom, and we tacked a vacation on because, well, we needed it by then!

    Here's to better luck in 2008!

    Well..I didn't post any goals. None of this was even intentional. But I thought I would post.

    I quit smoking (after 27yrs) my 2 to 3 pack a day habit. Big money saving's there..

    We just paid off $10,000 in cc dept.

    My Dh got promoted at his job and now makes $7800 more a year. No more physical labor..he now has a desk job and is consider a big wig..LOL...

    The only down fall for 2007 is that I gained 40lbs from quiting smoking!

    And we lost our loyal dog Brandy.

    first, I'd like to say that I'm sorry for your loss ~

    second, CONGRATS on not smoking!!!! As for the 40 lbs, it's still so much more worth it than the nasty smoking habit!!

    ((I can fairly say this because I stopped smoking as well))

    I found my list that I posted for 2007.

    My goals for 2007 include:
    ~paying down debt Opps, I created more debt!
    ~adding more $$$ to EF I didn't add as much as I wanted.
    ~saving for vacation (paying for it with cash!) We did take a vacation and we used mostly cash. I did end up putting the room on the CC. OUCH!!
    ~finishing my Associates Degree and start my working on my Bachelors Degree That didn't happen either. I will finish it in the Fall of 2008, but I have already started taking classes toward the Bachelors Degree.
    ~Spending more time with DH Yeppers! Did this one! We had many, many date nights!!
    ~Spending more time with my boys Managed to do this one too!
    ~Exercising more....have gotten lazy about exercising I started off really good and then when September hit, I just stopped! I need to start back up again.

    I guess you can say, I didn't do very well with my goals. I need to set less goals this year!
