Wasted !

I am LIVID!

I got into my work today. (I work in research and a big big hospital in Boston)

It looked like someone broke in. There was paper shrewn out on the floor... but I noticed that EVERY printer of this office has paper spit out of it. Reams of paper. What ever was IN the printer was 'printed with one line of goobalygock.

I called the Help center - no Help at all. 'just reset the (30) printers and you'll be all set."

All set!! what about the reams and reams of paper!!!

I started to talk with the office manager to tell her that we could just put the paper back into the printer- with the line of goobalygock up- and ..... [she interupted me] ... "I don't have time for this!" as she picked up the paper and tossed it into the 'recycle bin"

At least she put in the recycle bin.... I guess.

Darn technology!

Could you take it home and use it? IF nothing else Kids could draw on it. We have a local print shop that donates all the pages with errors to the Kindergarten class.

I guess it's a good thing she put it in the recycle bin but why not donate it to the local hospitals or something where the kids can draw on it or if not take it home, I am sure you can find a good use for it.

I'm curious as to what caused this to happen. Are the printers hooked to a fax machine so that someone could fax all this overnight? Is there a glitch in the hospital network? It's bad enough to have all that waste occurring once, but to have it happen again is shortsighted. So sorry you had to deal with this on a Monday.....

She IS at a hospital... sad that the boss just tossed all that paper... thats a lot of money wasted... and expenses the hospital has to pass on too.

Please tell me it's NOT my hospital

Seems that the 'network' had a system error causing all the printers to print and print and print and print and print..... this one line... until you ran out of paper.

I'm going to collect the paper myself and bring it home.
It's ridiculous to be wasted like that.

The manager (who I don't have to report to- since I am independent) came to me.. to try to smooze herself- I guess she realized I was a bit put off.
Anyway, I think I'll collect it and donate it to the local school.

I would scoop it up and use it at home. The paper I use for my general printing is a whole box from my sister's job that has a stream of random numbers on it I use it for everything that doesn't get turned in to school/work
