    Default Urban Sustainability-PTF

    Hi

I was wondering if anyone on here knew or was interested in this website

    http://www.pathtofreedom.com/

This family of 4 adults live on 1/10 of an acre in Pasadena California and have turned it into an urban small scale farm.

Lately they have been on various newscasts around the U.S. and next week CNN is supposed to be airing a segment about them too

Yea me too..well not the 1/2 acre part..lol..but I do have a seriously empty balcony that I could be using as a small veggie container garden..maybe next year if my first year of school hasn't burnt me out.

But I am addicted. I check their blog at least once a day for updates and to read the comments.

gonna have to spend some time reading that.

First thought... It seems to me everybody in your family would have to buy in to it for it to work. Lets say a family of 4 only got 2 to buy in to the concept. I could see resentement towards the other 2 for not pulling their weight.

Yea I cant totally see your point..I think there is another adult sibling but he/she must've not been into it or maybe got married and moved on their own.

Its nice to see that they are all of a like mind to do something like this and be able to sustain themselves with enough left over for profit.

The non-workers would have to be voted off the farm.

I hadn't seen them before, it is interesting to look at. I keep thinking I need to do more with my yard as far as usable space...but I do need to keep the grassy area for the kids to play!
