Eco-friendly Roadblock
Is there anything that you have a tough time giving up, even though it would be the "green" thing to do?
For me, I have 1 child still in diapers and I just have a tough time moving beyond regular disposable diapers. I know all about the benefits of cloth diapers or biodegradable diapers, but I just can't seem to make the move to a more earth friendly alternative.

The biggest thing that I have had trouble "giving up" is my long hot showers! I love taking a long soak in the shower (long to me is about 15-20 minutes). My solution to this now, is only to shower every other day. Since I don't work anymore, I don't have to shower every day, so I just made the adjustment that way, so I am using less water than taking a 15 minute shower every day!
It's funny that that is where my weakness is. I gave up my car & dependence on gas without a second thought. I've been vehicle free for almost a year, but can't give up my showers!

This is a hard one. I still have my son in disposable diapers, and although I thought about doing cloth diapers, I never got around to it. We don't have a washer/dryer in our place so it would be hard to deal with a big bucket of dirty cloth diapers. Maybe with the next one depending on where we live. And as far as biodegradable diapers go, it's really a price issue. I know that they're better for the environment, but regular diapers are expensive enough as it is. I'm on a budget here!
I have gotten better though. I use reusable bags for shopping, even at the mall and at places that don't reward you for it. I cut down our use of paper products to almost nothing. And I try to walk to the store as much as possible.
Next you'll see me home-composting!

Right now it's paper towels. I'm trying to cut down use but it's not easy with kids, dogs, and a messy dh.

Meat was tough because I was raised on it and love the taste, but it's been over 18 months now and no looking back.
Also, my convertible. I only drive it once in a while now, but I can't bring myself to sell it.

I would have say the hardest thing for me, is watching how much packaging I buy. Seems like we have way too much garbage.

Alot of things here.
I guess the biggest is recycling besides the bottles with deposits. We don't have curbside in my neighborhood, we have to take it to the recycling center ourselves, and I've gotten out of the habit because it is hard to get there when they are open plus having the bottles and cans and such piling up till we can get them there.

Mine would be paper towels...I am required to have them in both my kitchen and wash room (being licensed by the state) and while I am very conservative in using them-the rest of the family is not!

I don't limit my shower time. I try to make up for it by turning off the water while I'm soaping my hands or washing my face (and of course brushing my teeth and all that) and using as little water as I can when I wash dishes.
