Do you use natural detergents?
I have been using dishwasher soap, dish soap, laundry soap and fabric softener purchased from the health food store. I've even been using the recycled toilet paper.
Well, the prices are rising on these items! They were pricey to begin with. So, do I continue using products safe for our water and environment, or do I get gas? he he
I think I may have to buy the cheaper products for awhile. I feel guilty, but with my son's recent surgery breaking the bank, what else can I do?
Does anyone else use these natural products? Are they included in your budget?

I use laundry soap and automatic dishwasher detergent. I really don't use fabric softener that much, but vinegar is my first choice when I do. I also have a huge stockpile of dishwashing soap that isn't all-natural and I will probably look to switching over when the time comes. I use vinegar, baking soda, washing soda and borax for all my other cleaning needs and I feel those are very reasonable. My first option would be to buy all-natural products, but we all know that finances will dictate some purchases. I realize that I can only do so much, but I am still doing more than I ever have before.

I use Seventh Generation products and I do see they are going up, I know I have seen other options at the health food store and grocery store that is still natural. Saw "soap nuts" that look like a black walnut but not sure how they work.

I recently saw a review of these on a blog and the person really liked them (can't find the blog right now, but I think I started a thread about it). I was actually going to try them myself once I get through this monster-sized jug of Tide Cold Water. Ugh, the perfumes...

Purex and Arm & Hammer make a more natural, cheap alternative to the health food store detergents. I actually made my own, from Borax, Washing Soda, and Fells Naptha.

soap/detergent
I keep wondering why some of the companies don't start having a big barrel of some of these cleaning supplies that we could go to the store and just refill our bottles. The packaging alone has to cost more than the soap.
This is my first post..really enjoying reading. I am happy to say that I own a company and we have reduced our waste by 2 dumpsters by being a lot smarter. We are finding ways to recycle packaging, including sending some of it back to suppliers for multiple uses.

I use Charlies laundry soap. I buy it online. They ship for free and it is lots cheaper than any other natural detergent.
