    Default Cleanses

    I am on the road to eating healthier; less dairy, less meat, more fruits and veggies. In the meantime, I am just feeling like I am inundated with all of these cleanse ideas/products. While I can see the benefits, I am skeptical about googling "cleanse" and just buying something. As we all are, I am looking to NOT spend a ton of money, but I really need to seriously contemplate what, besides eating better from now on, I can do to help repair poor habits from the past and damage that I may have done. Any suggestions?

    I have been adding flax seed meal, wheat germ and/or wheat bran to many of my dishes--oatmeal, granola bars, spaghetti sauce. I do not find that it alters the taste of my food. Anyways, if you will google benefits of flax seed, wheat germ ,etc., you will find that these products have many benefits, which is why I use them. Also, this might be a little more natural for you than using colon cleanse products. Hope it helps!

    One good thing I know is to start the day with a tall glass of water, add a few tsp. of lemon. Do the same thing in the mid. day, then again at night. It's filling, refreshing and so healthy.

    I'm not convinced that many of the commercial products are healthy - they seem awfully harsh. That said, I am currently taking one that a registered naturopath suggested to help me get rid of the results of some recent medical testing - and I am feeling much more alert. She also suggested that I ease into it and do not plan on working up to the maximum dosage because she thought it was too much - which helped me feel that she was not just trying to sell me a product. I think it's name is modifilan - something like that. I'll look it up. It is a combo of other things that I have encountered elsewhere, but with a couple of new things too.
