What would you do with these? Help!
I need some advice: I'm an Avon lady and I always have old campaign magazines "around". What do I do with them other than throwing them in the dumpster?
My kiddo's cut and paste out of a few but we've really outgrown that option.
they are slick pages so I don't think I should compost with them.
I'd love to hear your thoughts
My town has NO recycling and just throws everything in the landfill. grrrrr. It's hard to be green when your town thinks they don't really have the need. but that's another post.

We dont have recycling here either, I usually burn those in my burn trash. You could use it as a fire starter in a wood stove as long as you were not using the ash for lye!

I have a friend that's an Avon rep. She continues to use the catalogs well after their 'expiration' date simply to get her name out there.
She will put a sticker/label on the back with her name/number & snipplet that states to call her for a current catalog.
this way, you're not out the $$ that you paid for the catalogs.

I can't believe that there are any daycares that don't want them! That type of stuff is usually treated like gold by schools!
You might also try your local animal shelter. Some use old magazine and newspaper donations for their puppy and bird areas!

Would the slick pages work for paper mache? Pinatas? Wire frame dolls and puppets?
Do you ever send packages? You could shred them and use them for packing.

Here is a couple websites that shows you how to make "paper beads" out of old magazines, yours should work well for this!

I have seen these done, and they really are beautiful. You really can't do anything wrong and no matter how you roll the paper they come out great. And remember you can always paint them after they dry! The make beautiful jewelry, and unlike anything that you can buy....
I am thrilled your girls are having fun.....and frugal too!

We have a outside wood furnace and one of the things that is advised not to burn in it, is paper with all those colors. It puts chemicals in the air. I would NOT be burning them in your fireplace.
We have a recycle center and I take papers there to get rid of them.
The paper beads sound interesting

I have to show you this! It has a way of making a bead roller so it would go much faster rolling the beads.
Go to the website, about half way down its says, Hand Made bead roller. Looks easy enough to make and sure would make it fast to roll the beads up.
