how much for aluminum?
Does any body know how much aluminum is going for? i have cans to cash in. thank you. klean163

In my area Nebraska they are going for about .20 lb. I will be keeping mine for a while at that price.
Last year we were getting about .60 lb for them.Debra

The price of aluminum is WAY down. We are sitting on ours until the price goes back up.

12/08/10 - Begin diet & exercise program.
Goal #1 - lose 30 lbs, lower blood sugar, blood pressure, & cholesterol - DONE
Goal #2 - lose 5 more pounds to put me in the normal range on the BMI - DONE - 5/13/11
05/16/11 - Down 36 lbs (total) since 12/08/10, under calorie goal almost every day, on treadmill 40 minutes 5 days a week MINIMUM.

The price of ALL scape is way down. We're sitting on all of ours also.
Klean, you'll have to call your recycling center that you take it to, to get a price. I'll probably be different in different parts of the country

I took about 50 pounds last month and they were only paying .23 a pound. I saw the sign they other day and the price went up to .28 a pound. I won't be taking any in for about 2 months, hopefully it will be up more by then. I'm in NE Ohio.

Where I live in Fontana,Ca cans are 1.80 a lb and plastic soda bottles are 97 cents a lb
I took mine in last month and got 62.00
FernYes I'm out of my mind. It's a dark and scary place in there.

The price seems to be inching back up. I saw 30 cents a lb. yesterday.

wow.....thanks for the info........it takes me forever to get a large bag full but I will investigate b/4 turning them in...that is a lousy rate!

Yup, we are up to .30lb here. I remember when I first started recycling cans, about 26 years ago, I could take them once a month and get anywere from $100 on up. But my inlaws owned a bar and cans were close to .50lb. I used to pay our electric bill with my can money. Ahhh the good ol' days.
